Summary

We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with a strong background in Special Purpose Machine (SPM) manufacturing to lead end-to-end project execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing projects from the initial concept and design phase through to final delivery, installation, and commissioning. This role requires deep technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and control systems to ensure that projects meet customer specifications, quality standards, and budget constraints. 

Responsibilities

Project lifecycle management:

·        Drive all project phases from design and concept to final commissioning and customer sign-off.

·        Create comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, budgets, timelines, and resource allocation.

Design and engineering oversight:

·        Support Sales team to prepare the Budgetary quote and technical scope of projects

·        Collaborate with the design and engineering teams to conceptualize and develop innovative SPM designs based on customer specifications.

·        Conduct technical feasibility studies and participate in design reviews to optimize manufacturability, performance, and cost.

·        Ensure all designs comply with engineering mechanics, industry standards, and safety regulations. 



Manufacturing and production coordination:

·        Liaise with the production and manufacturing teams to ensure designs are executed correctly and efficiently on the shop floor.

·        Manage procurement processes, including sourcing and vetting vendors and suppliers for specialized components and raw materials.

·        Optimize manufacturing processes using techniques like Lean and Six Sigma to improve efficiency and reduce waste. 

Customer and stakeholder management:

·        Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status and managing expectations.

·        Effectively communicate complex technical details to both internal teams and external stakeholders.

·        Address and resolve customer queries, change requests, and technical issues throughout the project. 

Risk, quality, and cost management:

·        Proactively identify and mitigate technical, schedule, and budget risks throughout the project lifecycle.

·        Conduct quality assurance checks and coordinate with the QA team to ensure all deliverables meet stringent quality standards.

·        Monitor and control project costs, ensuring adherence to the budget and profitability targets.

Technical expertise:

o   Deep understanding of mechanical design principles, machine kinematics, and structural mechanics.

o   Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.

o   Familiarity with production processes, material handling, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

o   Knowledge of control systems, PLCs, and electrical components.
