The Bengaluru chapter (United Way Bengaluru) of United Way Worldwide started in 2008, with the vision to make lasting and effective change within our city and the rural areas around it. By bringing communities together, unleashing their potential and ours, we work towards creating positive change in society. We are dedicated to transforming lives by bringing positive changes in communities worldwide, focusing on health, education, environmental sustainability, rural development, and corporate volunteering.
The Project Coordinator will play a critical role in facilitating community-level implementation and ensuring the long-term sustainability of project interventions. This position demands a deep commitment to working with rural communities and requires strong coordination with local self-government institutions, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and other grassroots stakeholders.
a) Graduate or postgraduate in any discipline, preferably in Social Work, Rural Development, or related fields, with a demonstrated willingness to work with communities through committed efforts.
b) Preferred: 2–3 years of relevant experience in the social development sector, particularly in community engagement and grassroots implementation, is preferred.
c) Proficiency in the regional language i.e. Telugu is essential.
d) Willingness to travel extensively for work-related assignments across project locations.
· Strong problem-solving skills at the community level, with the ability to develop creative and simple solutions for complex challenges.
· Sound knowledge of Project Planning, Budget Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) tools, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) structures, Community-Based Organizations (CBOs), and governance platforms.
· Alignment with organizational values and a genuine passion for addressing complex societal issues.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders.
· A collaborative team player, willing to take on additional responsibilities as required to support project needs.
· Computer Knowledge will have an added advantage.
