Experience: Minimum 2 to 4 years experience in communication, social media management, content creation, field documentation, or development-sector communication
Position Summary:
The Programme Officer - Communications will drive all state-level communication activities, ensuring timely, high-quality content creation and alignment with AKRSP(I)’s communication standards. The role involves capturing field stories, producing engaging social media content, supporting donor and programme communication needs, and contributing to key publications and training materials. The position requires strong field orientation, creativity, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, time-bound environment. The role will also support the organisation’s emerging strategy on retail fundraising through targeted storytelling, awareness-building, and communication products.
Experience working in field-based roles in previous organizations (NGOs preferred).
Strong understanding of social media trends, messaging depth, and narrative building.
Preferred Attributes:
Excellent storytelling, writing, and editing skills.
Ability to create reels, short videos, photo stories, and scenario-based content.
Proficiency in using phones/cameras for field photography & videography.
Working knowledge of Canva or basic design/editing tools (preferred).
Strong interpersonal skills; extroverted and comfortable interacting with communities and stakeholders.
Ability to work independently under time-bound conditions.
Attention to detail and ability to ensure high-quality content.
A. Content creation & social media management
Capture high-quality photos, videos, reels, and stories from field locations.
Develop engaging state-level social media content (posts, reels, scenario-based series, etc.).
Coordinate with the Ahmedabad (HQ) communications team to ensure message clarity, consistency, and depth.
Create a monthly content forecast and social media calendar for the state.
B. Field storytelling & documentation
Identify and document impact stories, case studies, beneficiary narratives, and programme highlights.
Ensure stories reflect the programme’s values, outcomes, and human-interest depth.
Prepare quick turn-around content for time-sensitive events and campaigns.
C. Publications & donor communication
Contribute to Annual Progress Reports, donor reports, brochures, newsletters, and state updates.
Provide high-quality photos, field insights, quotes, and data narratives for donor communication.
Maintain an organised repository of communication assets for donor and internal use.
D. Branding & collateral development
Support creation of branded materials such as standees, banners, brochures, training materials, and field display items.
Ensure compliance with AKRSP(I)’s branding guidelines across the state.
Assist programme teams in designing training videos, blended-learning content, and visual aids.
E. Training & capacity building
Support the development of communication toolkits, training materials, and learning modules.
Collect feedback from field teams on communication/training materials and recommend improvements.
Facilitate basic communication training for field staff (photo capture, storytelling, documentation skills).
F. Coordination & feedback loops
Work closely with programme teams, Area Manager/Regional Manager, and the Ahmedabad (HQ) communications unit for smooth workflow.
Regularly update the communications dashboard with state-level progress and content analytics.
G. Retail funding communication
Creating compelling field stories, visuals, and narratives that resonate with supporters.
Designing state-specific fundraising communication material, including short videos, social media campaigns, and donor-impact snippets.
Supporting awareness-building campaigns related to retail giving, such as monthly giving programmes or festival campaigns.
Contributing content for fundraising pages, donor newsletters, WhatsApp updates, and micro-campaigns.
Ensuring all retail fundraising communication aligns with the organisation’s values and maintains authenticity and integrity.
Coordinating with the Ahmedabad (HQ) team on message framing, donor engagement content, and storytelling guidelines for donors.
