Production Engineer

Job Title: Production Engineer – Automobile IndustryJob Summary

The Production Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling manufacturing processes within an automotive production facility. The role ensures that vehicles or automotive components are produced efficiently, safely, cost-effectively, and at the desired quality standards.

Key Responsibilities1. Production Planning & Operations

• Develop and optimize manufacturing processes to improve productivity and reduce cycle time.
• Prepare daily/weekly production plans and ensure smooth workflow on the shop floor.
• Monitor production output and resolve bottlenecks or downtime issues.

2. Process Improvement

• Implement lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
• Analyze process inefficiencies and recommend design or process changes.
• Conduct time and motion studies to enhance line balancing and throughput.

3. Quality Management

• Ensure adherence to automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 9001).
• Work with the Quality team to identify defects, root causes, and corrective actions (CAPA).
• Drive process control using FMEA, SPC, and control plans.

4. Equipment & Maintenance Support

• Coordinate with maintenance to ensure machines and tools run safely and efficiently.
• Support installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment or automation systems.
• Create and maintain equipment operating procedures and manuals.

6. Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Work closely with design, R&D, manufacturing, supply chain, and quality teams.
• Collaborate with vendors and suppliers for raw materials, tooling, and process improvements.

Required Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of automobile manufacturing processes (assembly, machining, welding, painting, etc.).
• Understanding of lean tools (5S, VSM, SMED, Kanban).
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) is a plus.
• Knowledge of PLCs, robotics, and automation (for modern automotive plants).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork ability.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresher

Pay: ₹18,086.00 - ₹66,720.73 per month
