Senior Product Manager – Logistics / Shipping Platforms

Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the product vision, scope, roadmap, and delivery outcomes for complex logistics and shipping technology platforms. This role is strategic and execution-focused, requiring deep understanding of customer workflows, feature scope, engineering effort, development cost, and long-term roadmap planning.

The Product Manager is expected to think like a business owner, ensuring the right features are built, at the right time, with full awareness of cost, complexity, and value.

Experience & Background

● Minimum 8+ years of Product Management experience in SaaS or platform products

● Proven experience owning end-to-end product lifecycle from discovery to production

● Strong advantage: prior domain experience in Shipping, Freight Forwarding, Logistics, Supply Chain, WMS, or ERP

● Experience working closely with engineering, UX, QA, and DevOps teams

● Background in startup or scale-up environments where prioritization and trade-offs are critical

Key Responsibilities

1. Product Ownership & Vision

● Own the product vision and feature roadmap aligned with business goals

● Clearly define what to build, why to build it, and what success looks like

● Balance customer needs, operational realities, and technical feasibility

● Continuously evolve the product based on feedback, data, and delivery insights

2. Scope Definition & Feature Clarity (Critical)

● Translate business and customer requirements into clear, actionable product scope

● Define epics, features, and acceptance criteria with zero ambiguity

● Ensure teams fully understand functional depth, edge cases, and dependencies

● Prevent scope creep by making informed prioritization decisions

3. Cost, Effort & Feasibility Awareness

● Work with engineering to estimate development effort and delivery timelines

Understand cost drivers including team capacity, complexity, cloud usage, and technical debt

● Evaluate scope vs cost vs timeline trade-offs before committing to roadmaps

● Make prioritization decisions grounded in business value and delivery cost

4. Roadmap Planning & Predictability

● Own and maintain a realistic, execution-aware product roadmap

● Predict delivery timelines based on actual capacity and constraints

● Identify future dependencies, risks, and resourcing needs early

● Adjust roadmap proactively based on learnings from execution

5. Execution Partnership with Engineering

● Partner closely with Engineering Leads and Architects to align product intent with technical reality

● Participate actively in planning, reviews, and release readiness

● Ensure features are built to production-grade quality, not just functional completion

● Balance speed, scalability, and maintainability in product decisions

6. Stakeholder & Customer Alignment

● Act as the single product owner for internal stakeholders and leadership

● Clearly communicate roadmap, priorities, trade-offs, and impact

● Gather and synthesize customer feedback to influence product direction

● Ensure alignment between customer expectations and delivery reality

7. Cloud & Platform Awareness (GCP)

● Work with teams operating on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) to understand platform implications

● Be aware of how architectural choices impact scalability, cost, and delivery timelines

● Ensure product decisions are compatible with infrastructure and operational constraints

8. Domain-Led Product Thinking (Logistics Advantage)

● Understand logistics workflows such as shipments, jobs, documentation, billing, compliance, tracking, and integrations

● Design features that reflect real operational complexity, not theoretical flows

● Reduce rework by aligning product decisions with real-world logistics operations

Required Skills & Competencies

● Strong experience with Agile / Scrum product practices

Excellent prioritization and decision-making skills

● Ability to convert ambiguous requirements into structured product scope

● Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset

● Clear, confident communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders

● Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, zoho
