Reporting To:
Role Overview- The President - Operations is the seniormost leader at the manufacturing facility, accountable for overall performance and long-term operational strategy.
- This role carries full P&L ownership, responsibility for regulatory and statutory compliance, and the mandate to drive productivity, efficiency, and culture across the factory.
- The President will act as the critical link between the Board/MD and the entire factory workforce, ensuring alignment of plant operations with the companys vision of becoming a globally trusted name in personal care and pharmaceuticals.
Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic & Leadership Responsibilities
- Define and execute the long-term operational strategy for the factory in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Provide visionary leadership across all functions: Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, HR, EHS, Procurement, and Administration.
- Serve as a culture-setter and mentor, building strong leadership pipelines and succession plans.
- Partner with the MD/Directors on strategic decision-making, risk management, and global expansion initiatives.
Operational Excellence & Performance
- Ensure seamless day-to-day operations, achieving and exceeding production, quality, and efficiency targets.
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and automation/Industry 4.0 initiatives to continuously improve productivity.
- Implement advanced supply chain strategies for raw materials, packaging, warehousing, and logistics.
- Oversee preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize plant uptime.
- Build robust operational dashboards and KPIs for real-time performance tracking.
Compliance & Governance
- Ensure 100% compliance with GMP, ISO, USFDA, BIS, and global regulatory frameworks.
- Establish robust internal controls, audits, and governance mechanisms.
- Represent the company during regulatory inspections, client audits, and industry forums.
Financial & P&L Responsibility
- Own and deliver the plants P&L performance, ensuring profitability, cost optimization, and sustainable growth.
- Approve capital investments, technology upgrades, and major procurement decisions.
- Align operational budgets with company financial goals, ensuring fiscal discipline and transparency.
People & Culture
- Lead and inspire a workforce of 500+ employees, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance.
- Champion employee engagement, talent development, and leadership coaching programs.
- Resolve conflicts, nurture collaboration, and maintain positive industrial relations.
Qualifications & Experience- Education: BSc/MSc degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or related fields; MBA preferred.
- Experience: 15-18 years in large-scale factory/plant leadership, preferably in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, FMCG, or exposure to export operations.
- Track Record: Proven success in leading multi-disciplinary teams, handling P&L responsibilities, and driving compliance at scale.
- Skills:- Strong strategic acumen with operational execution capabilities.- Expertise in quality assurance, regulatory compliance, and global manufacturing standards. - Financial management, cost optimization, and capital planning. - Inspirational leadership with the ability to drive organizational change.
- Preferred: Experience with global audits (USFDA, EMA, WHO-GMP), lean automation, and setting up/expanding greenfield projects.
