Location: Gurugram Department: Cybersecurity Solutions / Pre-Sales Engineering Reports To: Head of Solution Sales Job Summary We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Cybersecurity Pre-Sales Consultant to join our growing cybersecurity team within a leading System Integration (SI) company. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in the business development process by working with sales, product teams, and customers to design tailored cybersecurity solutions. You will act as a trusted advisor, engaging with enterprise and government clients to understand their security challenges and translating business needs into scalable and secure solutions. Key Responsibilities 1. Pre-Sales Engineering & Solution Design · Understand customer security requirements and develop high-level and low-level cybersecurity solution designs. · Architect comprehensive security solutions that span network, endpoint, cloud, data, identity, and application security. · Conduct technical workshops, assessments, and POCs (proof of concepts) to validate solutions. · Map customer requirements to specific cybersecurity technologies and vendor products. 2. Proposal & RFP/RFI/RFQ Management · Analyze and respond to RFPs, RFIs, and RFQs with detailed and tailored responses. · Create Statements of Work (SoWs), Statement of Compliance (SoC), Bill of Materials (BoM), and solution design documents. · Ensure responses are accurate, complete, and aligned with client expectations and compliance requirements. 3. Customer Engagement & Presentation · Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to C-level executives, IT managers, and technical stakeholders. · Lead discovery sessions to understand business and technical objectives. · Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and technical liaison between customers and internal delivery/engineering teams. 4. Cross-functional Collaboration · Work closely with Sales, Product Management, Engineering, and Partner/Vendor teams to develop cohesive and viable offerings. · Coordinate with project delivery teams to ensure solution alignment post-sales. Key Cybersecurity Solution Areas A successful candidate should be familiar with or have experience designing solutions involving: · Network Security: Firewalls, IDS/IPS, segmentation, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) · Endpoint Security: EDR/XDR, antivirus, device control · Cloud Security: CASB, CSPM, CNAPP, SASE, workload protection (CWPP) · Identity & Access Management (IAM): MFA, SSO, PAM, IGA · Data Security: DLP, data classification, encryption, rights management · Application Security: WAF, API security, secure SDLC, code scanning · SIEM/SOAR: Security analytics, threat detection, and incident response automation · Threat Intelligence & Hunting · GRC & Compliance: Solutions for ISO 27001, NIST, PCI DSS, GDPR, etc. · Managed Security Services / SOC Design · OT/ICS Security, especially for clients in critical infrastructure Qualifications & Skills Technical Qualifications · Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field. · Minimum 10+ years of relevant cybersecurity pre-sales, solution architecture, or consulting experience. · Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, CEH, or vendor-specific (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco, Microsoft, Fortinet, Check Point, CrowdStrike, Splunk) are preferred. · Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards (NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, ISO 27001, etc.) Soft Skills & Competencies · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · Strong presentation and public speaking abilities—comfortable engaging both technical and non-technical audiences. · Effective customer relationship management and interpersonal skills. · Strong problem-solving, analytical, and consultative mindset. · Ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet tight deadlines. · Ability to translate technical jargon into business-oriented language for executives and decision-makers. Additional Responsibilities · Keep current with evolving security threats, industry trends, and emerging technologies. · Assist in vendor selection, technical evaluations, and strategic partnerships. · Contribute to internal knowledge base and reusable content for future proposals. · Train and mentor junior engineers and contribute to capability building.
