What We Are Looking for:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power BI Administrator and Visualization Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and administering the Power BI environment, including services such as pipelines, configuration, and integration with version control systems like Git. Additionally, the candidate will be proficient in creating visually compelling and insightful reports using Power BI Desktop.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Report and Dashboard Creation:

o Develop and design interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards using Power BI Desktop. o Gather and analyze requirements from stakeholders to build effective data visualizations.

o Implement data models, measures, and calculations using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions).

o Ensure data accuracy and integrity in reports and visualizations.

2. Power BI Administration:

o Administer and manage Power BI Service including workspaces, dataflows, datasets, and report publishing.

o Configure and manage Power BI pipelines for deployment across development, test, and production environments.

o Implement and manage Power BI gateways and ensure connectivity to data sources.

o Manage user access and security roles within Power BI.

o Monitor system performance, usage metrics, and optimize the Power BI environment.

3. Configuration and Integration:

o Configure Power BI settings to align with organizational requirements.

o Integrate Power BI with other tools and systems, including databases, data warehouses, and cloud services.

 o Utilize and manage version control using Git for Power BI projects.

4. Collaboration and Support:

o Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI functionalities.

o Collaborate with data engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.

o Stay updated with the latest features and best practices in Power BI and data visualization.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

o Proficiency in Power BI Service administration.

o Strong experience with Power BI Desktop for report creation.

o Knowledge of Power BI pipelines, deployment, and configuration.

o Experience with integrating Power BI with version control systems like Git.

o Expertise in data modeling and DAX.

o Familiarity with data sources such as SQL Server, Azure, GCP and other cloud services.

o Understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.

Soft Skills:

o Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

o Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

o Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.

Educational Background and Experience:

o Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

o Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with Power BI.

o Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or equivalent are a plus.
