Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Power BI Dashboard Developer to join our data analytics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining interactive dashboards and reports that provide actionable insights to support business decision-making across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Dashboard Development & Management

• Design and develop interactive dashboards, reports, and data visualizations using Power BI

• Create and maintain automated data refresh schedules to ensure real-time data accuracy

• Optimize dashboard performance and user experience across desktop and mobile platforms

• Implement row-level security and access controls to protect sensitive business data

• Establish and maintain dashboard governance standards and best practices

Data Integration & Modelling

• Connect Power BI to various data sources including SQL Server, Excel, SharePoint, web services, and cloud databases

• Design and implement efficient data models using DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) and Power Query

• Transform and clean raw data to ensure accuracy and consistency in reporting

• Create calculated columns, measures, and KPIs to support business requirements

• Optimize data models for performance and scalability

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with business users, analysts, and executives to understand reporting requirements

• Conduct requirements gathering sessions and translate business needs into technical specifications

• Provide training and support to end users on dashboard navigation and functionality

• Present findings and insights to stakeholders through compelling data storytelling

• Gather feedback and iterate on dashboard designs to improve user adoption

Technical Maintenance & Support

• Monitor dashboard performance and troubleshoot technical issues

• Maintain documentation for data sources, transformations, and dashboard functionalities

• Implement version control and change management processes for dashboard updates

• Stay current with Power BI feature updates and industry best practices

• Provide technical support and training to other team members

Required Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Power BI Expertise: 3+ years of hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service, and Power BI Gateway

• Data Analysis: Proficiency in DAX, Power Query (M language), and data modeling concepts

• Database Knowledge: Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL)

• Data Visualization: Understanding of data visualization principles and best practices

• Microsoft Office Suite: Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, formulas, and data analysis tools

Analytical Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail

• Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical solutions

• Experience with statistical analysis and trend identification

• Understanding of business intelligence concepts and data warehousing principles

Soft Skills

• Excellent communication skills with ability to present to both technical and non-technical audiences

• Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple priorities

• Collaborative mindset with experience working in cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field

• Microsoft Power BI certification (DA-100 or PL-300)

• Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, QlikView, SSRS, SSIS) is a plus

• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) and their data services

• Experience with Python or R for advanced analytics

• Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies
