Job Title:

Plant Head – Radiator Manufacturing (Transformer Industry)

Location:

Vadodara

Reports to:

Managing Director

Experience Required:

6 to 10 + years in fabrication/manufacturing, with minimum 5 years in radiator or transformer components production

Job Summary

We are seeking a results-driven and technically strong

Plant Head

to lead the entire operations of our

radiator manufacturing plant for power and distribution transformers

. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, welding, painting/coating, and transformer radiator specifications. This position is responsible for ensuring operational efficiency, high product quality, safety, and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Production & Operations Management
Manage and oversee end-to-end production activities: shearing, forming, welding, painting/powder coating, testing, and dispatch.
Ensure timely delivery of radiators as per transformer manufacturer specifications (corrugated, pressed steel type, etc.).
Quality Assurance
Ensure product quality meets relevant IS/IEC standards and customer specifications (e.g., weld quality, surface finish, pressure test performance).
Coordinate with QA/QC team to implement inspection protocols and minimize rework or rejection rates.
Equipment & Maintenance
Ensure optimum functioning of key equipment like CNC shearing machines, seam welders, MIG/TIG welding machines, and painting booths.
Lead preventive and predictive maintenance activities to reduce downtime.4. Cost & Inventory Control
Optimize raw material usage (CRCA/HR sheets, welding wire, paint/powder, etc.) to reduce waste and manage costs.
Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams for timely availability of input materials.
Team Leadership
Lead and mentor production engineers, supervisors, technicians, and operators.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
Process Improvement & Lean Initiatives
Implement lean manufacturing practices (5S, Kaizen, TPM).
Drive efficiency improvements and process automation where possible.
Coordination & Reporting
Liaise with design, planning, sales, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations.
Provide management with regular updates on KPIs, production status, and improvement plans.

Key Skills And Competencies

Strong knowledge of transformer radiator types (flange type, elliptical fin, pressed steel) and fabrication standards
Expertise in welding processes (MIG/TIG/Seam)
Good understanding of pressure testing and leak detection methods
Data-driven approach with strong planning and analytical skills
