Plant Head (CRGO)

Job Title: Plant Head (CRGO unit)

Job Purpose:

To lead and manage the overall material planning, procurement, logistics, inventory, and supply chain strategy for the CRGO production unit. The role ensures uninterrupted production through timely availability of raw materials, optimal inventory levels, efficient material flow, and strategic planning aligned with production goals and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:1. Strategic Planning:

• Develop and implement end-to-end material management and production planning strategies specific to CRGO operations.
• Align material planning with demand forecasts, production schedules, and customer orders.
• Drive cost-effective procurement and inventory management practices.

2. Material Management:

• Oversee sourcing and procurement of CRGO raw materials (silicon steel, alloys, etc.).
• Maintain optimal inventory levels to support lean manufacturing and JIT principles.
• Monitor material usage and yield; identify and address variances or losses.

3. Production Planning & Control:

• Prepare and execute detailed production schedules, considering machine availability, manpower, and material flow.
• Ensure planning aligns with quality specifications and CRGO product standards.
• Coordinate closely with production, maintenance, and quality teams for seamless operations.

4. Supply Chain Coordination:

• Manage vendor relationships for timely and quality supplies.
• Optimize inbound and outbound logistics for raw materials and finished goods.
• Implement systems for tracking supply chain KPIs (OTIF, lead time, costs).

5. Team Leadership & Development:

• Lead a team of planners, store managers, procurement officers, and logistics personnel.
• Build capabilities through training and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish a culture of accountability, efficiency, and safety.

6. Systems & Compliance:

• Implement ERP/MRP systems for material tracking and planning accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations in material handling and storage.
• Adhere to ISO, BIS, or other relevant quality management systems.

Key Requirements:

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Metallurgical/Production preferred)
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain Management or Operations (desirable)

Experience:

• 12+ years of experience in material management and production planning, preferably in CRGO/ Lamination sheet manufacturing units.
• Proven leadership experience at a plant-level or unit head role.

Skills & Competencies:

• In-depth knowledge of CRGO production processes and material characteristics.
• Strong understanding of supply chain principles and inventory management.
• Proficiency in SAP and planning tools.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills.

Pay: ₹100,000.00 - ₹120,000.00 per month
