Job Title: Plant head

Industry: Metal Can / Tin Packaging Manufacturing

Location: [Medchal, Hyderabad]

Salary:12lpa to 25lpa

Reporting To: General Manager / Director – Operations

Job Summary:

The Plant Manager will oversee all daily operations of the plant from production and manufacturing to ensuring policies and procedures are followed. The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving performance, productivity, efficiency, and profitability through effective methods and strategies in the metal can production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and manage all plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics.

Ensure optimal production planning to meet customer orders, quality standards, and delivery timelines.

Lead initiatives for cost control, waste reduction, and process improvement in can manufacturing.

Implement and enforce health and safety protocols as per industry standards.

Supervise workforce, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations of staff.

Monitor machine utilization, breakdowns, and coordinate with the maintenance department for timely repairs.

Coordinate with the quality control team to maintain product standards and resolve quality issues.

Maintain compliance with environmental, labor, and government regulations.

Analyze production data and generate reports for senior management.

Drive Lean Manufacturing and 5S practices throughout the plant.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Sound knowledge of metal forming, seaming, and can-making machines (e.g., bodymakers, trimmers, neckers).

Proficiency in plant KPIs: OEE, downtime, yield, scrap rates.

Excellent communication and decision-making ability.

Familiarity with ERP systems and MS Office.

Problem-solving and process improvement mindset.

Educational Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Industrial / Production Engineering (preferred).

MBA or PG Diploma in Operations/Management (added advantage).

Experience:

Minimum 7 years of experience in metal packaging / can manufacturing industry.

At least 3–5 years in a plant leadership/managerial role.
