Operations Officer

Job Description:

The Customs Operations Officer will play a vital role in managing and facilitating the smooth import and export of goods through Dubai's ports. This position involves ensuring compliance with local and international customs regulations, optimizing operational efficiency, and providing exceptional service to stakeholders. The role requires a deep understanding of customs procedures, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Customs Clearance Management:
Oversee the processing of customs documentation for import and export activities.Ensure accurate and timely submission of customs declarations, invoices, and other necessary documentation.Verify the classification of goods in accordance with the Harmonized System (HS) codes and ensure correct application of tariffs and duties.Compliance and Regulatory Adherence:Monitor and ensure compliance with Dubai Customs regulations, policies, and procedures.Stay updated on changes in local and international customs laws and regulations, and implement necessary adjustments.Conduct audits to ensure internal and external customs compliance.Operational Efficiency:Coordinate with logistics, shipping, and freight forwarding teams to ensure seamless customs clearance and movement of goods.Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce delays.Manage and resolve any issues related to customs clearance, including discrepancies, disputes, and delays.Stakeholder Communication and Support:Provide guidance and support to internal teams and external clients on customs-related matters.Act as a liaison between Dubai Customs and other government agencies or stakeholders.Deliver exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving concerns promptly and effectively.Data Analysis and Reporting:Analyze customs data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.Prepare and present reports on customs operations, performance metrics, and compliance status.Maintain accurate records and documentation for audit and review purposes.Risk Management:Assess and mitigate risks associated with customs operations, including potential non-compliance and financial risks.Develop and implement strategies to minimize delays and costs related to customs processes.Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.
At least 1 - 2 years of experience in customs operations, import/export in UAE.In-depth knowledge of customs regulations, procedures, and compliance requirements.In-depth knowledge of Dubai Trade & Calogi.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in documentation and reporting.Fluency in English.
