About the job: Tata Electronics (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd.) is building India’s first AI-enabled state-of-the-art Semiconductor Foundry. This facility will produce chips for applications such as power management IC, display drivers, microcontrollers (MCU) and high-performance computing logic, addressing the growing demand in markets such as automotive, computing and data storage, wireless communications and artificial intelligence. AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: Strategic Oversight of EMI Shielding Operations: Leadership in EMI Shielding: Take responsibility for the overall strategic direction, management, and execution of EMI shielding systems within the organization, ensuring they support operational goals and meet the company's product and system requirements. Goal Alignment: Ensure EMI shielding efforts align with organizational objectives, ensuring that shielding performance is consistently maintained and optimized in production and development areas. Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with other departments such as Quality Assurance, R&D, Production, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure EMI shielding is a key component of product and system development from the concept stage to final production. Team Leadership and Development: Team Supervision: Lead and manage a team of EMI shielding engineers, technicians, and support staff, ensuring they work effectively and efficiently to maintain shielding systems. Training and Development: Provide ongoing training and development to staff on the latest shielding technologies, industry best practices, and safety protocols to ensure a highly skilled team that can address complex shielding issues. Performance Management: Set performance targets for the team and conduct regular performance evaluations to ensure high standards of work quality, safety, and compliance are maintained. Failure Analysis and Risk Mitigation: Root Cause Analysis: Lead investigations into any failures or performance issues related to EMI shielding, conducting thorough root cause analyses and ensuring corrective actions are implemented to prevent recurrence. Risk Assessment: Continuously assess potential risks to the integrity of EMI shielding systems, taking proactive steps to address vulnerabilities, whether from external environmental factors, equipment degradation, or operational changes. Continuous Monitoring: Implement a system for ongoing monitoring and risk identification, ensuring that potential shielding issues are flagged and addressed before they lead to larger operational disruptions. Budgeting and Resource Allocation Budget Management: Develop, manage, and oversee the budget for EMI shielding maintenance activities, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently to support preventive and corrective maintenance needs while remaining within financial constraints. Resource Procurement: Ensure the availability of essential resources (spare parts, tools, materials, and labor) by effectively managing vendor relationships, maintaining an adequate inventory, and anticipating future needs based on operational requirements. Cost Optimization: Identify opportunities to reduce maintenance costs while maintaining or improving the effectiveness and reliability of EMI shielding systems through process improvements or material innovations. Key Interactions: Planning maintenance windows, addressing equipment-related EMI issues, and ensuring smooth workflow integration. Regulatory and Quality-Focused – resolve non-conformances, perform root cause analysis of failures, and support quality audits. Compliance and Safety-Oriented – coordinate on safety inspections, incident investigations, and risk mitigation strategies. Strategic and Reporting – present KPIs, budgets, risk assessments, and propose improvement projects. Transactional and Strategic – evaluate suppliers, manage inventory levels, and negotiate contracts or delivery terms. Operational – assign tasks, review maintenance results, train teams, and ensure system reliability. QUALIFICATION: Bachelors in engineering in any discipline. 7+ years' experience in EMI Shielding/Sputtering manufacturing.
