Roles & Responsibilities:

Reducing Expenses:

· Driving green field coal mining project.

· MDO onboarding

· Reduction of cost of coal production

· Reduction in MDO cost

· GCV improvement for selective mining

HSE:

· Responsible for 100% safety compliance as Mines Act 1952, CMR 2017, Mines Rule 1955 & DGMS circular.

· Responsible for implementation of Vedanta safety standard & Vedanta Sustainability Assurance Programme (V-SAP).

· Ensuring safety audit observations are compiled to avoid any hazards and accidents.

· Promoting occupational health and safety measures to develop safer and healthier working environment.

· Providing guidance on proper usage of safety items and training to employees.

· Evaluating safety control measures and taking corrective action in an effort to ensure effective coordination during incident response.

· Ensuring periodic safety audit, preparation of risk management plans, risk management teams, identification of possible hazards, accident proneness, etc. and implementing mitigation plans.

· Performing the duties and responsibilities of Mine Manager under The Mines Act, 1952.

· Inspecting and testing machinery and equipment to make sure they met safety regulations and standards.

Technical knowledge:

· Manages mining operations safely, efficiently and cost effectively to meet short term and long term production and safety objectives.

· Ensures correct resources are available to deliver business targets (e.g. product quality and volume).

· Provides visible felt leadership in safety, sustainable development and Vedanta values.

· Ensures compliance with all legal, environmental, occupational health and safety and risk management standards and leading practices.

· Creates, develops, mentors and motivates effective management, operational, maintenance and technical teams.

Automation:

· Fleet management system

· Maintain effective co-ordination between Operations and Power plant.

· Timely dispatch of coal as demand rase by power plant

People Development:

· Business partner competency mapping through online skill assessment, TNI mapping, and continuous development.

· Improvement in business partner participation and on ground implementation of QC/KAIZEN, 5S, AO, VSAP through review and governance.

· Maintain effective co-ordination between Operations and other department.

Others:

· Knowledge of SAP(material module)

· Deal with external and internal environments

· Responsible for maintaining all the statutory compliance as per required by statutory boardy such as CCO office, MoC Delhi, Forest Dept., DGMS office, Mining Office Korba, SPCB and MoEF & CC.
