Job Description

Bharat Aluminum Company Limited (BALCO) has made significant contributions as the first PSU in India’s Aluminum sector Incorporated in 1965 and since then it has been closely associated with the Indian Industrial Growth, in a pivotal role. With smelter capacity of 5.70LTPA, Power generation capacity of 2010MW, Bauxite production capacity of 6.8 MTPA and Coal block capacity of 1 MTPA, BALCO's vision is to be a world class Integrated Aluminum and Power producer generating sustainable value for all stakeholders.


Roles & Responsibilities:


Community Engagement:

  • Develop and implement strategies for effective community engagement and relationship building.
  • Facilitate dialogues and partnerships with community stakeholders to address their needs and concerns.

Social Impact Assessment:

  • Conduct social impact assessments to evaluate the effects of company operations on local communities.
  • Implement mitigation plans to address any negative impacts identified through assessments.

Program Management:

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of community development programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and meet predefined objectives.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with local governments, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and other key stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to align community development efforts with company goals and policies.

Quality Assurance:

  • Implement quality assurance processes to ensure community development initiatives meet high standards and deliver intended outcomes.
  • Regularly review and assess program performance and impact, making adjustments as necessary.

Compliance and Regulation:

  • Ensure all community development activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and adjust strategies to maintain compliance.


Desired Skills:

  • Master’s degree in social sciences, Environmental Studies, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 10+years of experience in community development, social performance, or ESG roles, including at least 5 years in a senior management position.
