IIT Kanpur Development Foundation (IITK DF) is a Section 8, not-for-profit, company established by IIT Kanpur to engage with external stakeholders like Alumni, Corporates, Foundations, and Philanthropists in India and across the globe, and to raise funds to meet its long-term growth aspirations. Such offices are called ‘development offices’ in universities of global repute and usually have a staffing of 1 for every 1,000 alumni. This role requires a strong execution-oriented project manager capable of handling multi stakeholder construction and infrastructure projects in a fast-paced development office environment, with high accountability for donor-facing reporting and on the ground delivery.

IITKDF seeks to appoint a Project manager and a change agent as defined below:

Position: Project Manager

Location: IIT Kanpur Development Foundation (IITKDF), Kanpur

Reporting to: Vice President – Operations and Alumni Relations

Responsibilities and Expectations

Liaise with internal stakeholders for Project management.

Maintain and update data related to projects & donors database.

Create, execute, and oversee plans to engage Donors and Beneficiaries.

Track & ensure collection of beneficiary reports & documents.

Assist in various Donors Reporting initiatives throughout the year.

Provide general clerical support, and answer telephonic & email inquiries related to programs and donations.

Professional assistance and interaction with internal stakeholders, vendors & beneficiaries via phone, computer and face-to-face.

Generate reports, collate & provide data as and when requested by the manager / Stakeholders.

Ability to draft MoU and proposal, Budgeting & Fund Utilization Tracking

Identify risks early, document issues, risk logs, propose mitigation, and ensure timely closure.

Preparing PPTs related to fundraising & programs.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team; detail-oriented, well-organized, focused, and goal-oriented, with a high level of initiative and energy, as well as problem-solving skills.

The individual should be flexible and adapt to any additional responsibilities that the organization may allocate from time to time.

Desired Profile

A positive, can-do attitude with strong self-direction and a desire to take the initiative and ensure excellence.

Outstanding verbal, written, and digital communication skills along with sound analytical skills. Possesses direct real estate experience and a proven ability in hands-on, on-ground project execution.

Need to have an eye for detail and should be familiar with terminology used in legal agreements/contracts.

A clear and confident communication style, which demonstrates institutional knowledge and integrity

Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoho.

S/he must possess prior experience in managing projects and programs. This includes managing real-time operational infrastructure and driving projects from plan to completion on-site.

S/he must have a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of two years of work experience.

S/he should be a Team Player with high energy and willing to work in a start-up environment.
