Job Title : Mainframe Developer Exp : 5 years+ Location : Pune Notice Period : 0-15 days / serving Salary : As per market Mode of Hire : Contract Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mainframe Developer to join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in IBM Mainframe technologies and will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and supporting mainframe applications. This role requires collaboration with business analysts, QA teams, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL, JCL, and DB2-based applications. Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Perform system analysis, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. Provide support for production systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues. Participate in code reviews and ensure compliance with coding standards. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with other systems. Optimize performance of existing mainframe applications. Create and maintain technical documentation. Participate in migration or modernization projects as needed. Required Skills and Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 5+ years of experience in Mainframe application development. Strong proficiency in COBOL, JCL, VSAM, DB2, CICS . Experience with tools like Endevor, File-AID, Abend-AID, Expeditor . Knowledge of mainframe utilities like IDCAMS, IEBGENER, SORT, etc. Understanding of SDLC, Agile or Waterfall methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in mainframe modernization or integration with distributed systems. Familiarity with Rexx, Easytrieve, or Assembler . Exposure to DevOps tools for mainframe (e.g., IBM UrbanCode, Git on z/OS). Knowledge of scheduling tools like CA-7 or Control-M Show more Show less
