About the Role

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Linux System Administrator with expertise in RedHat, CentOS, and Bash/Shell scripting to manage, maintain, and support our Linux-based infrastructure. The ideal candidate will also have working experience with SUSE, Ubuntu, and Oracle Linux to support diverse environments and client needs.

Primary Skills

• Proven experience in RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.
• Strong skills in CentOS Linux system management and support.
• Advanced proficiency in Bash/Shell scripting for automation and system tasks.
• Installation, configuration, patching, and performance tuning of Linux servers.
• Troubleshooting system-related issues and resolving service incidents.
• Experience managing services like Apache, NGINX, SSH, FTP, DNS, etc.

Secondary Skills

• Experience with SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) administration.
• Experience with Ubuntu Linux in both server and desktop environments.
• Working knowledge of Oracle Linux system maintenance and configuration.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Puppet, or Chef) is a plus.
• Exposure to virtualization platforms like VMware, KVM, or Hyper-V is advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of networking concepts and security hardening.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day Linux server operations and ensure system availability.
• Automate routine tasks using scripts and open-source tools.
• Perform regular system updates, backups, and recovery procedures.
• Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues.
• Collaborate with DevOps, security, and application teams to support infrastructure requirements.
• Maintain documentation for systems, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• RedHat Certification (RHCSA/RHCE) preferred.
