Job Description

We are seeking a skilled

Linux Support Engineer

to join our Managed Services team.The role involves providing 24×7 operational support, troubleshooting, and performance optimization for Linux-based systems across on-premise and multi-cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).The ideal candidate will combine deep Linux expertise with strong customer service skills and a passion for automation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Provide L2/L3 support for Linux servers in a managed services environment, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
Monitor system health and respond to incidents using enterprise monitoring tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Grafana, ServiceNow).
Perform regular maintenance tasks: patching, upgrades, kernel tuning, and security hardening.
Troubleshoot OS, network, and application issues, ensuring adherence to SLAs and ITIL processes.
Implement and maintain configuration management and automation (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, or similar).
Collaborate with Cloud, Network, and Security teams to support multi-cloud operations.
Maintain detailed documentation for standard operating procedures, root cause analyses, and change requests.
Participate in on-call rotation for 24×7 support and planned maintenance windows.
Work closely with clients to provide proactive recommendations for capacity planning, performance tuning, and cost optimization.

Required Skills & Qualifications

3–6 years of experience in Linux/Unix system administration (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar).
Strong knowledge of cloud environments (AWS preferred; Azure/GCP a plus).
Experience with scripting/automation (Bash, Python, Ansible, or Terraform).
Familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management).
Understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls).
Hands-on experience with security hardening, patch management, and backup solutions.
Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills, with a customer-centric mindset.

Preferred / Nice To Have

Relevant certifications such as RHCSA/RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, or Linux Foundation Certified Engineer.
Exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines.
Experience with FinOps or cost-optimization practices in cloud environments.
