Assistant Manager - Legal
Location:
Andheri East, Mumbai
Key Responsibilities:
- Legal Compliance: Stay up-to-date with the constantly changing legal and regulatory landscape in the SAAS industry. Ensure the company's operations and products comply with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Contract Management: Manage, review, and draft a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and licenses. Negotiate and finalize contracts with customers, partners, and vendors.
- Data Protection and Privacy: Oversee data protection and privacy compliance, including GDPR and other relevant regulations. Work closely with the data protection officer to maintain compliance with data privacy laws.
- Intellectual Property: Protect and manage the company's intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, and copyrights. Handle intellectual property disputes and licensing agreements.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential legal risks and provide proactive advice and solutions to address these risks. Develop risk mitigation strategies to protect the company's interests.
- Litigation Management: Manage any legal disputes or litigation involving the company. Collaborate with external legal counsel when necessary and represent the company in legal proceedings.
- Policy Development: Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures that align with legal and ethical standards.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure the company adheres to industry-specific regulations and standards.
Qualifications:
- Education: A law degree (LLB or equivalent) is required. Additional qualifications or certifications in relevant areas of law are a plus.
- Experience: A minimum of 4-6 years of legal experience, with a focus on SAAS, technology, or IT-related legal matters. Prior in-house counsel experience is preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of SAAS industry regulations, data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR), and intellectual property rights.
- Contract Expertise: Proficiency in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of contracts and agreements.
- Litigation Skills: Experience in managing legal disputes, litigation, and working with external legal counsel.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and provide practical legal advice.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound legal judgments.
- Communication: Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
