Role Overview: We are rolling out Katalon as our new automation tool and are seeking an experienced Katalon Automation Specialist to guide our team through its implementation, adoption, and best practices. This role involves assessing our current automation approach, providing expert feedback, and ensuring we are aligned with industry standards. The ideal candidate will help shape our automation framework, processes, and governance for long-term scalability and quality. Key Responsibilities:
- Review and assess the team’s existing Katalon automation setup, code structure, execution process, and promotion practices.
- Provide recommendations to ensure alignment with best practices for automation design, implementation, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with the team to refine and document standards for: o Peer reviews o Code setup and execution o Katalon code development and promotion
- Evaluate and advise on handoff processes between automation engineers and functional testers, including clear rules of engagement.
- Define and document the process for expanding the regression suite: o Ownership and accountability for new automation scripts o Criteria for selecting new functionality to automate o Version control and change management practices to avoid duplication
- Mentor and coach team members to ensure consistent adoption of standards. Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in Katalon Studio automation framework design and execution.
- Strong understanding of automation best practices and test lifecycle management.
- Experience defining and implementing automation governance and documentation standards.
- Familiarity with regression suite maintenance and CI/CD integration.
- Excellent communication skills to coach and guide cross-functional teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Preferred:
- Experience in transitioning teams from other automation tools to Katalon.
- Knowledge of functional and performance testing processes. Experience : Looking for candidates with 7 to 12 years of experience
