About The Team

The Payroll Specialist role is part of the payroll team at Nutanix, based in Bangalore, India. This team is characterized by a collaborative culture that values hands-on experience and individual contribution. The mission of the Payroll team at Nutanix is to ensure accurate financial reporting and facilitate smooth month-end closing processes while supporting overall financial health and operational efficiency within the organization.You will report to the Hiring Manager, who is committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment. Manjunath, the hiring manager, encourages team members to take initiative and actively participate in problem-solving.Your RolePayroll ProcessingExecute end-to-end monthly payroll for employees with accuracy.Ensure timely computation and disbursement of salaries.Handle final settlements (F&F).Maintaining confidentiality of payroll dataManage PF, ESI, PT, TDS, LWF, TCS and other statutory compliance.Ensure payroll operations align with internal policies and legal regulations.Address employee queries related to salary, deductions, and payrolldiscrepancies through service now ticketing system.Manage onboarding and offboarding formalities.Collaborate with HR and Finance departments for smooth payroll operations.Ensure compliance with audit requirements with respect to payroll.General AccountingHandle daily bank transactions and reconciliationsPost journal entries & general ledger reviewCollaborate with senior accountants and finance teamsSupport team in month-end and year-end closing activitiesProvide support during internal/external auditsFamiliarity with basic financial compliance such as TDS, GST, advance taxpayments etc.What You Will BringShould hold a bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance, HR, or related field.Working knowledge in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table etc.,)Good communication, coordination skills and ability to work in a teamFamiliarity with payroll software like GreytHR & accounting tool like Net SuiteWillingness to learn and adapt to changesWork ArrangementHybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
