Jr. Accountant

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Junior Accountant with at least 4 years of accounting experience, preferably in the retail or jewelry industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling day-to-day accounting tasks, inventory reconciliation, and supporting financial operations specific to a jewelry business. Experience with gold/diamond accounting, billing, and compliance is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain day-to-day accounting records including purchase, sales, receipts, payments, and journal entries.
• Manage inventory accounting for gold, diamonds, gemstones and other jewelry items.
• Handle GST, TDS, and other statutory filings as per applicable laws.
• Prepare and reconcile cash and bank statements daily.
• Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
• Manage billing and invoicing with proper HSN codes and tax structure for jewelry.
• Track stock movement and perform regular stock audits of gold and diamonds.
• Coordinate with karigars (craftsmen) for material issued/received and maintain related accounts.
• Generate financial reports, including profit & loss statements, trial balance, and balance sheet.
• Liaise with external auditors, suppliers, and tax consultants.
• Assist in managing customer advances, refunds, and installment tracking if applicable.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (M.Com or CA Inter is a plus).
• Minimum 4 years of accounting experience, ideally in a retail or jewelry environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and taxation (especially GST applicable to jewelry).
• Familiarity with jewelry-specific accounting software (e.g., Marg, JewelMate, or customized ERP).
• Good understanding of weight-based inventory (e.g., gold in grams, diamonds in carats).
• Proficiency in Tally ERP, MS Excel, and other relevant accounting tools.

• Time management and ability to work under deadlines.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working in a gold or diamond jewelry showroom.
• Knowledge of BIS hallmarking and jewelry valuation practices.
• Understanding of jewelry pricing, making charges, and related tax implications.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
