The Applications Development Intermediate Programmer Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for participation in the establishment and implementation of new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to contribute to applications systems analysis and programming activities.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain core components of the Agency Lending strategic platform using Java, Java EE, Spring, Springboot, and Hibernate.
- Design and implement microservices using Lightspeed, Docker, and Kubernetes, adhering to Citi's API Strategy and standards.
- Develop and optimize PL/SQL queries and stored procedures for interacting with Oracle databases.
- Write Unix scripts for automation and deployment tasks using tools like Team City and UDeploy.
- Integrate with message middleware systems such as IBM MQ and Kafka.
- Collaborate with other developers using Citi's collaboration tools (e.g., GitHub) and follow the Citi Software Development Lifecycle.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure code quality and adherence to Citi's Engineering Excellence principles.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues, working with support teams across multiple time zones.
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of the platform's performance, scalability, and security.
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies relevant to securities finance and lending.
- Provide support to business users and stakeholders, addressing their needs and resolving issues related to the platform.
- Leverage Autosys for job scheduling and automation.
- Work with securities master and market data, ensuring data accuracy and integrity within the platform.
- Apply knowledge of financial markets, trading, middle office, and back office functions to enhance platform development.
- Adhere to Citi's technology risk management framework and data governance policies.
- Utilize Citi's developer platform and tools, including the CI/CD pipeline and developer portal.
- Participate in relevant training programs offered by Citi, including those focused on GenAI, coding languages, platforms, and cybersecurity.

Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in the Financial Service industry
- Intermediate level experience in Applications Development role
- Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
