Job Purpose:

The Design & Interface Manager will be responsible for managing and coordinating all design activities related to the BTL Metro Track project, ensuring technical accuracy, timely delivery, and seamless interface between various engineering disciplines, contractors, consultants, and stakeholders. The role demands strong leadership, coordination, and technical expertise in civil and structural design related to metro or large-scale infrastructure projects.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Design Management:

  • Lead, review, and coordinate the design development for all civil, structural, and interface-related works of the BTL Metro Track project.
  • Ensure all design deliverables comply with project specifications, relevant codes, and standards.
  • Liaise with design consultants and ensure timely submission, review, and approval of design drawings and documents.
  • Coordinate design changes, clarifications, and design risk assessments throughout the project lifecycle.

2. Interface Coordination:

  • Manage interfaces between different project packages (civil, track, signaling, power, rolling stock, etc.).
  • Facilitate cross-discipline coordination meetings to identify and resolve design and interface issues.
  • Develop and maintain the Interface Management Plan and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Act as the main point of contact between client, consultant, and contractor teams for design/interface-related matters.

3. Technical Review and Compliance:

  • Conduct design reviews, value engineering, and constructability assessments.
  • Verify and ensure compliance with statutory regulations, standards, and client requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance to site teams and support in resolving design-related issues during construction.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Maintain design progress reports, interface matrices, and change management records.
  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of all design decisions, approvals, and revisions.
  • Prepare periodic reports and presentations for senior management and client review meetings.


Desired Candidate Profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in

    Civil Engineering

    (Master’s in Structural or Transportation Engineering preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years

    of relevant experience in

    design management and interface coordination

    for

    metro, rail, or large infrastructure projects

    .
  • Strong understanding of civil/structural design principles, codes, and metro rail systems.
  • Experience in coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders (contractors, consultants, authorities).
  • Proficiency in design and project management tools (AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD, Primavera, MS Project, etc.).
  • Excellent communication, coordination, and leadership skills.
