Job Description

Job Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for up time & incident management for defined IT applications and make sure that the systems and applications are always working. Administer and manage applications running under LINUX /AIX/Solaris/Windows based systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, and automation. Identifying the root causes of incidents in order to prevent future recurrence Monitor applications & databases for system behavior and analyze performance, Errors / Alerts / Notifications, database connections / blocking processes & resolve issues. Serve as a focal point to communicate, coordinate & resolve application /interface / integration issues with vendors and other teams Responsible for deployment & movement of application code / bug fixes / data patches and release management in Production, SIT and UAT environments in coordination with vendors Execution of O.S and DB patching for the defined IT applications. Work on assigned projects/tasks as assigned by the management and team leader. Conduct regular bug/issue tracker review meetings & coordinate with vendor/BSG for problem resolution and follow-ups Coordinate the review, presentation and release of all SLA deliverable and other documentation pertaining to defined applications Ensure that all team members / Vendor (i.e. Technical Analysts/executives / Programmers) perform the delegated tasks according to set timelines. Preparing Application process documents/ KB documents. Assist team in achieving best possible design solution for functional requirements. Collection of necessary data for MIS preparation for applications Attending Change Control Board meetings & planning the production movement. Reviewing KB documents & publishing the same to IT Operations Team. Reporting of daily activities to Project Manager, monitor and on need basis escalate issues as appropriate. WORK EXPERIENCE 3-6 years ’ experience that is relevant in LINUX / UNIX platforms, preferably with BFSI segment; in a high-volume or critical production application environment. Hands on experience in the area of installation, configuration, monitoring and management of Applications & Databases in Linux / UNIX / Solaris systems. Experience in application server log analysis, troubleshooting, management and problem solving. TECHNICAL SKILLS Excellent knowledge in Linux, Unix, Solaris & Windows Operating systems and Applications Good Knowledge in Java ( Middleware - WebLogic, JBoss, Apache Tomcat ) Sound Knowledge in RDBMS – Oracle / MSSQL /MYSQL Otherand SQL Query Good skills in Linux scripting languages; Shell scripting Basic Networking knowledge, should be able to troubleshoot issues with minimum guidance and support Problem solving skills Awareness / Exposure to BFSI segment would be a plus SOFT SKILLS Ability to prioritize effectively and handle shifting priorities professionally Good written and oral communications skills Good inter-personal skills Must possess strong quantitative, and analytical skills Show more Show less
