Industrial Designer

Job Purpose :

At EEB Engineering Design and Consultancy Services Pvt. Ltd., we are dedicated to developing smart, robust, and sustainable engineering solutions across industries.

As part of our design team, you will play a pivotal role in transforming ideas into tangible designs and products that balance functionality, aesthetics, and innovation.

As an Industrial Designer, you will contribute to projects spanning engineering, product development, sustainable agriculture technologies, and urban solutions.

You will be responsible for conceptualizing, visualizing, and developing designs that meet customer requirements while aligning with EEB’s commitment to sustainability, user-centric innovation, and global standards.

You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in engineering, R&D, sustainability, and marketing to ensure that creative design intent is preserved through to technical execution.

Key Responsibilities

• Propose creative, innovative, and feasible design solutions adhering to project objectives, customer requirements, sustainability standards, and regulatory guidelines.

• Develop and present design concepts through 2D sketches, 3D models, renderings, and physical prototypes.

• Collaborate closely with engineering and product development teams to ensure design feasibility and alignment with technical requirements.

• Lead design projects from concept to production, ensuring design quality, brand alignment, and timely delivery.

• Provide industrial design support throughout the development process, ensuring preservation of design intent.

• Conduct research on design trends, materials, ergonomics, and sustainable solutions across industries.

• Benchmark competitors and identify opportunities for innovation.

• Collaborate with external vendors, suppliers, and manufacturing partners for design realization.

• Mentor junior designers, providing constructive feedback and fostering a culture of creativity.

• Contribute to R&D initiatives in areas such as sustainable agriculture systems, urban infrastructure, and smart engineering solutions.

• Prepare insightful design reports and presentations for management and clients.

Education

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Industrial design, Product Design, or Automotive/Engineering Design from a reputable institution.

Work Experience

• 2-5 years of proven experience in Industrial/Product Design with a strong portfolio of projects.

• Demonstrated experience in taking products from concept to production.

• Strong rendering and sketching skills, with the ability to visually communicate design ideas effectively.

• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other design visualization tools.

• Strong 3D modeling skills in software such as Rhino 3D, Blender, SolidWorks, or Alias.

• Proficiency in 3D rendering software such as KeyShot, VRED, or Unreal Engine.

• Understanding of ergonomics, user experience, and sustainability-driven design principles.

• Familiarity with prototyping, 3D scanning, and surface development is a plus.

• Experience with material and finish development, graphics, and trims is desirable.

• Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

• Ability to work in multi-disciplinary and cross-cultural teams.

• Passion for innovation and problem-solving across industries.

• Willingness to travel domestically/internationally for design reviews, vendor meetings, and project collaborations.

Work Arrangements & Requirements

• Full-time, permanent role based in Chennai (in-person work).

• Day shift schedule (Monday to Friday).

• Saturday and Sunday off.

• Candidates must have their own travel arrangements (no transport facility provided).

• Occasional travel may be required for supplier/vendor visits.
