Industrial Designer

The ideal candidate for this role should possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in designing innovative, functional, and aesthetically appealing products. You should have a strong background in Tool design and be able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to bring homeware product concepts to life. Your responsibilities will include improving existing product designs to enhance user experience, marketability, and manufacturability. You will be expected to develop creative product concepts and design solutions based on market research, client requirements, and brand direction. Collaborating with engineering, marketing, and manufacturing teams will be essential to ensure design feasibility, cost-efficiency, and alignment with technical requirements. Additionally, conducting user research and usability testing to iterate on designs and optimize the user experience will be part of your role. Directing Colour/Material/Finish for the designed products will also be a key responsibility. The competencies required for this position include curiosity, attention to detail, good observation skills, and clear communication skills. You should have a user-centered design approach and possess strong problem-solving skills. The ability to communicate ideas through sketches or quick 3D modeling is essential. A strong understanding of design principles, ergonomics, and materials is necessary. Proficient experience in 3D modeling in SolidWorks and rendering in KeyShot is required, and knowledge of 3DS Max is considered a bonus. The mandatory qualifications for this role include a B.Des, M.Des, or Diploma in Tool and Die/Design.
