Head - Projects Electrical

Purpose/Objective

The Head - Electrical will lead the electrical engineering and execution functions for AdaniConneX’s Data Centre BU, ensuring the delivery of state-of-the-art, energy-efficient, and scalable electrical systems. This role is pivotal in supporting the business unit’s vision of building a 1GW data center infrastructure platform by 2030, leveraging Adani Group’s expertise in mega-structure construction and EdgeConneX’s global benchmarks in data center design and operations. The role will focus on driving excellence in electrical project execution, aligning with the strategic priorities of speed, safety, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities of Role

- Lead the end-to-end electrical design, engineering, and execution for data center projects, ensuring alignment with global standards and AdaniConneX’s operational benchmarks. - Oversee the implementation of energy-efficient electrical systems, including power distribution, UPS, and backup systems, to support high-availability data center operations. - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical systems with mechanical, IT, and building management systems. - Drive the adoption of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices in electrical infrastructure to meet the business unit’s environmental goals. - Manage vendor selection, contract negotiations, and performance monitoring for electrical equipment and services. - Ensure timely project delivery by coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining adherence to quality, safety, and budgetary constraints. - Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies for electrical systems, ensuring uninterrupted operations and compliance with industry standards. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship to the electrical engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. - Monitor and report on project progress, electrical system performance, and energy efficiency metrics to senior leadership. - Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in electrical engineering and data center operations to maintain a competitive edge.

Qualifications and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred. - Minimum of 20 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on large-scale infrastructure or data center projects. - Proven expertise in designing and executing high-capacity electrical systems, including power distribution, UPS, and backup systems. Educational Background - Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from a reputed institution. - Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field is preferred.
