The Role

The Head of QA, will be responsible for the overall quality of applications, data, and development processes. This person will be responsible for managing and refining our software QA practices, defining and reporting on key quality metrics, and working with cross functional teams to ensure all system data and applications features are of the highest quality.

The Head of QA will matrix manage a team of QA Engineers, who are focused on building test cases and automating QA workflows. The Head of QA will report directly to the SVP, Software Engineering and will work closely with the VP of Data and Analytics.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor’s degree).
• 10+ years of QA experience.
• Strong experience with application, data, and api testing. AlongStrong understanding of QA manual and automation processes and software testing lifecycle.
• Strong knowledge of QA methodologies and use of automated testing software. (Agile/Scrum/SAFe, Playwright, Cucumber, TestRails, Selenium)
• Good understanding of Web-based technology architecture and data structure.
• Strong database skills (SQL).
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Experience testing business solutions delivered on SaaS models
• Planning, designing, implementation and use of automated test suites

Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership

• Define and implement the QA strategy aligned with business and engineering goals.
• Establish quality standards, KPIs, and metrics to measure and improve product quality.

• Process & Methodology

• Develop and maintain robust QA processes including test planning, execution, automation, and reporting.
• Champion Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices to integrate QA seamlessly into the development lifecycle.
• Conduct post-mortems and follow up with all teams to improve development processes

• Automation & Tools

• Drive the adoption of test automation frameworks and tools to improve efficiency and coverage.
• Evaluate and implement QA technologies that support scalability and innovation.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to ensure quality is embedded throughout the SDLC.
• Act as the voice of quality in executive discussions and product planning.

• Risk Management

• Identify and mitigate quality risks early in the development process.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for critical defects and failures.
