Head of QA

The role of the Head of QA is crucial in ensuring the overall quality of applications, data, and development processes within the organization. You will be responsible for managing and refining software QA practices, defining key quality metrics, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to uphold the highest standards for system data and application features. As the Head of QA, you will oversee a team of QA Engineers, guiding them in building test cases and automating QA workflows. Reporting directly to the SVP, Software Engineering, you will work closely with the VP of Data and Analytics to align quality assurance efforts with organizational goals. To excel in this role, you should possess an undergraduate or first-level degree, along with at least 10 years of QA experience. Your expertise should include a strong background in application, data, and API testing, as well as a deep understanding of QA manual and automation processes. Familiarity with QA methodologies and automated testing tools such as Agile/Scrum/SAFe, Playwright, Cucumber, TestRails, and Selenium is essential. Proficiency in web-based technology architecture, data structures, and SQL is also required. Your responsibilities as the Head of QA will encompass strategic leadership, where you will define and execute a QA strategy that aligns with business and engineering objectives. You will establish quality standards, KPIs, and metrics to enhance product quality, while also developing and maintaining robust QA processes. It will be your role to champion Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices and integrate QA seamlessly into the development lifecycle. Additionally, you will drive the adoption of test automation frameworks and tools to enhance efficiency and coverage. Collaboration will be key, as you partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Operations to embed quality throughout the software development life cycle. You will serve as the advocate for quality in executive discussions and product planning, identifying and mitigating quality risks early on. Furthermore, you will lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for critical defects and failures to ensure continuous improvement in development processes. Overall, as the Head of QA, you will play a pivotal role in upholding and enhancing the quality of applications, data, and development processes within the organization.
