Head of Placement

Job Summary:
The Head of Placement will lead the Training and Placement Cell at HKBK Group of Institutions, overseeing all strategic and operational aspects of student placements, corporate relations, and career development initiatives. This role requires a visionary professional capable of forging strong industry linkages, enhancing employability programs, and achieving exceptional placement outcomes for all HKBK students. The Head of Placement will manage the placement team, design strategic engagement plans with corporate partners, and align placement objectives with institutional goals and academic excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership & Planning
- Develop and implement the institution’s overall placement strategy, aligning with academic programs and market trends.
 - Set annual targets for placements, internships, and corporate partnerships in line with institutional growth plans.
 - Drive the creation of new industry collaborations to strengthen placement opportunities and brand visibility.
 - Establish metrics for placement performance, training effectiveness, and employer satisfaction.
 
Corporate Relations & Partnerships
- Build and sustain strategic relationships with senior industry leaders, HR heads, and recruiters across sectors.
 - Negotiate MoUs and long-term partnerships with top corporates, startups, and industry bodies.
 - Represent HKBK in industry forums, conferences, and corporate networking events.
 - Drive engagement initiatives such as corporate conclaves, CEO talks, and recruiter roundtables.
 
Student Employability & Development
- Oversee the design and delivery of employability enhancement programs, including aptitude training, mock interviews, and resume development.
 - Guide the placement team to ensure all students receive continuous mentoring, career counselling, and personalized support.
 - Ensure employability curriculum aligns with market needs and emerging business trends.
 
Operational Excellence
- Supervise and mentor the placement team in organizing recruitment drives, job fairs, and campus interviews.
 - Ensure timely coordination between academic departments, students, and recruiters for seamless placement operations.
 - Maintain accurate databases of students, recruiters, and placement outcomes; present detailed analysis and reports to management.
 - Monitor placement-related documentation and ensure compliance with institutional and accreditation standards.
 
Brand Building & External Engagement
- Position HKBK Group of Institutions as a preferred recruitment destination for employers.
 - Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to promote placement success stories and corporate collaborations.
 - Leverage alumni networks for placements, mentorship, and industry connections.
 
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related discipline (MBA preferred).
 - Experience: Minimum 5–10 years of experience in placements, corporate relations, or HR leadership roles, preferably in reputed higher education institutions.
 - Proven record of achieving strong placement outcomes, with average packages above ₹5 LPA and highest packages exceeding ₹20 LPA.
 - Extensive network within the corporate and HR ecosystem, especially among Tier 1 and Tier 2 recruiters.
 
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong strategic and analytical mindset with the ability to translate vision into results.
 - Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
 - Ability to build and manage a high-performing team and multiple projects simultaneously.
 - Proficiency in CRM tools, data analytics, and reporting systems.
 - Professional presence with a collaborative and student-centric approach.
 
Key Result Areas (KRA):
- Achieving target placement percentage and average package goals each academic year.
 - Developing and maintaining high-value corporate partnerships and MoUs.
 - Conducting structured placement training and employability programs across all semesters.
 - Driving alumni engagement initiatives for mentoring and recruitment support.
 - Ensuring transparent reporting and continuous improvement in placement processes.
 
Key Performance Indicators (KPI):
- Placement Success: Achieve 90% placement of eligible students within six months of graduation.
 - Corporate Engagement: Establish 15+ new corporate partnerships per semester.
 - Training Programs: Conduct a minimum of 8 employability workshops per semester.
 - Alumni Involvement: Engage 10+ alumni annually in mentorship or placement drives.
 - Recruiter Feedback: Achieve 95% positive feedback from employers on student performance.
 - Brand Recognition: Increase institutional visibility through at least 3 industry collaborations or media features annually.
 
Other Requirements:
- Willingness to travel extensively for corporate visits, collaborations, and conferences.
 - Flexibility to work beyond standard hours during placement seasons.
