Head of Maintenance (Injection Molding)
This is a full-time, on-site role for the Head of Maintenance, based in Dadra & Nagar Haveli.Role DescriptionThe Head of Maintenance will be a critical leader responsible for ensuring the reliability and peak performance of all machinery and infrastructure within our injection molding facility. The primary focus is the maintenance, repair, and optimal performance of injection molding machines, auxiliary equipment (e.g., chillers, dryers, material handling systems), and molds.Key responsibilities include: * Establish and rigorously execute Preventive and Predictive Maintenance (PPM) plans specifically for injection molding machines (hydraulic, electric, or hybrid) and molds, ensuring minimal unscheduled downtime. * Oversee the effective maintenance and timely repair of all production equipment, focusing on diagnosing and rectifying complex electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical faults. * Develop and implement proactive maintenance strategies to maximize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and optimize mold life. * Ensure strict compliance with all safety standards and regulatory requirements during maintenance operations. * Manage a comprehensive inventory of spare parts, tools, and consumables, specifically for molding equipment, to ensure immediate availability for critical repairs. * Supervise, lead, and mentor a technical team of maintenance staff, fostering a culture of safety, technical excellence, and rapid response. * Work closely with Production, Quality, and Engineering stakeholders to maintain operational excellence and minimize interruptions to the molding schedule.Qualifications * Mandatory 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial maintenance, with a significant focus on high-volume manufacturing or industrial settings. * Expertise in Preventive Maintenance, Maintenance, and Maintenance & Repair gained over this 10-year period. * Proven hands-on experience in maintaining and troubleshooting injection molding machines (e.g., specific brands like Husky, Engel, Milacron, etc., is a bonus). * Experience with hot runner molds, controllers, and associated thermal management equipment is highly preferred. * Demonstrated experience in Maintenance Management and developing data-driven maintenance strategies (e.g., using a CMMS). * Strong technical skills in diagnosing and repairing hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical (including PLCs), and mechanical systems. * Strong skills in Team Management, including the ability to lead, mentor, and coordinate a technical maintenance staff. * Commitment to ensuring safety, quality, and operational efficiency in a plastics manufacturing environment. * Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred. * Experience in the plastic injection molding industry is a significant advantage. * Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
