Job Title: Director/Head of Engineering Location: Hyderabad, IN Type: Full-Time | Leadership | IT Professional Services About the Role : SIDGS is seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Engineering to lead a high-performing, global engineering team structured around PODs and shared service towers. This role demands a strategic leader who thrives in a professional services environment and can scale delivery across complex, multi-disciplinary teams including App Dev, Web Dev, DevSecOps, Cloud, SRE, Data & AI, and Solution Architecture. The Director will be accountable for engineering excellence, process governance, talent growth, and technical innovation across our portfolio of client engagements. Key Responsibilities: Leadership & Team Management: Lead a matrixed engineering organization comprised of multiple PODs and shared services. Drive alignment across functional engineering towers and shared services (R&D, DevSecOps, Cloud, InfoSec, etc.). Mentor Engineering Leads and promote continuous technical and leadership development. Delivery Oversight: Own end-to-end accountability for engineering deliverables, including build, deployment, SRE, and support functions. Ensure adherence to engineering standards, secure coding practices, and audit readiness. Oversee operational metrics, DevSecOps pipelines, SRE operations, and cloud infra governance. Strategic Execution: Collaborate with Solution Engineering and Sales to support pre-sales, estimation, and proposal development. Drive the adoption of emerging technologies such as GenAI, Vertex AI, and LangChain into client solutions. Champion reusable reference architectures and knowledge sharing via COPs. Governance and Quality: Lead Engineering Process Governance & Audit (PG&A). Set and monitor KPIs for engineering productivity, code quality, CI/CD performance, and uptime. Ensure security compliance, including CVE remediation and DAST/SAST implementation. Innovation and R&D: Partner with internal R&D teams to pilot new technologies and integrate them into practice. Promote certification tracks, hackathons, and experimentation in modern cloud-native and AI-based architectures. Key Qualifications: 12+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in leadership roles. Proven track record managing geographically distributed engineering teams in a services or consulting firm. Deep understanding of: Cloud platforms (GCP++, AWS, Azure) CI/CD, DevSecOps (Jenkins, GitLab, ArgoCD, etc.) SRE tools (GCP Ops Suite, DataDog, Dynatrace) Full-stack engineering (React, Flutter, SpringBoot, Kubernetes) AI/ML and GenAI platforms (Vertex AI, LangChain, Vector DBs) Strong program/project management acumen with a bias for execution. Demonstrated experience in solution architecture and client delivery management. Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science or related field preferred. Certifications in cloud (GCP, AWS), DevSecOps, or AI/ML are a plus. Show more Show less
