Head of Engineering

In this role as the Head of Engineering at Aether, a specialized equipment engineering company in Mohali, you will be tasked with leading and expanding the engineering function in both mechanical and electrical disciplines. By collaborating with a team of dedicated engineers, designers, and builders, you will merge technical proficiency with flexibility to tackle intricate hardware challenges. **Key Responsibilities:** - Take ownership and lead all engineering aspects within the mechanical and electrical realms. - Establish, guide, and mentor a diverse team of engineers. - Drive technical excellence in designing, prototyping, validating, and delivering sophisticated equipment systems. - Collaborate with product, operations, and leadership teams to align engineering efforts with business goals. - Develop and optimize engineering processes, documentation, and quality standards. - Make technical decisions encompassing architecture, materials, and component selections. - Ensure on-time project delivery while upholding precision. - Represent engineering in customer-facing interactions as needed. **Qualifications Required:** - Minimum 8 years of experience in mechanical, electrical, or hardware engineering roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial position. - Strong background in equipment design, automation, electromechanical systems, or related fields. - Proficiency in leading both hands-on design tasks and high-level systems thinking. - Experience in early-stage or small team environments with a knack for building from the ground up. - Effective communication skills and a collaborative mindset. - Additional skills in manufacturing, testing, compliance, or industrial automation are advantageous.
