Job Title: Junior Estimation Engineer (GET Graduate Engineer Trainee)

Role Objective

To support the Estimation & Proposal team in preparing accurate cost estimations, technical data sheets, BOQs, quotations, techno-commercial submissions for composite products and turnkey systems. Ensure timely responses to RFQs (Requests for Quotation) with competitive and compliant offers.

Key Responsibilities

A. Estimation & Costing

• Study RFQ, tender documents, drawings, P&IDs, specifications, data sheets.
• Identify scope of supply, design requirements, materials of construction.
• Prepare detailed Bill of Quantities (BOQ) including:
• FRP/GRP Pipes, Fittings, Scrubbers, Chemical Tanks, Blowers, Ducting, etc.
• FRP Rods/Tapes, Rebar (where applicable)
• Perform cost calculations including:
• Raw materials (resins, glass fibre, silica, lining materials)
• Consumables (catalyst, pigments, packing materials)
• Labour man-hours
• Machine & tooling cost
• Third-party inspections, testing, transportation & installation approach
• Maintain cost database, standard rates, and estimation templates.

B. Proposals & Technical Documentation

• Prepare technical bid submissions including compliance statements.
• Prepare commercial offers as per company pricing policies.
• Coordinate with Design, Production, QA/QC for technical clarifications.
• Create drawings/data sheets for proposals (with design team support).
• Ensure proper bid formatting, customer submission & timely delivery.

C. Coordination & Communication

• Attend technical discussions with Sales, Clients and Consultants.
• Seek necessary clarifications to reduce estimation ambiguities.
• Support Sales Team in pre-order documentation and revisions.

D. Post-order Activities (Learning & Exposure)

• Assist in project handover with design & production teams.
• Understand project margins, cost control, order vs. estimate variance.

Required Skills & Competencies

Technical:

• Basic knowledge of Composite materials (GRP/FRP), Thermoplastics & related equipment.
• Understanding of mechanical component sizing (Tanks, Piping, Pressure Parts).
• Familiarity with standards such as ASTM, AWWA, BS/EN, ISO, DIN is a bonus.
• MS Excel (advanced formulas), AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, fabrication sketches, and P&IDs.

Professional & Behavioral:

• Analytical mindset with numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
• Strong communication & documentation skills.
• Willingness to learn materials, standards & special fabrication techniques.
• Ability to work under deadlines and handle multiple RFQs.

Qualification

• B.E. / B.Tech Mechanical / Chemical / Polymer Engineering / Production Engineering
• Freshers / up to 1 year of experience in Estimation or relevant internship preferred
