Installation & Maintenance Engineer PAPIS & CCTV Systems
Role & responsibilities Execute installation of PAPIS (Public Address and Passenger Information System) and CCTV Systems in coaches. Conduct internal wiring, fitment of display units, audio components, cameras, and network equipment as per the design layout. Perform functional checks and diagnostics, including power, continuity, and integration testing. Coordinate with the I&C team for systematic testing, including Pre-Commissioning, Functional, and Integration Tests. Maintain proper documentation of installation steps, wiring changes, and test results for future maintenance. Participate in joint inspections and support Final Acceptance Testing (FAT) with client representatives. Manage on-site inventory (tools, cables, connectors) and report any shortages or issues proactively. Ensure compliance with safety standards and follow site protocols in coordination with Railway authorities. Skills & Qualifications: Diploma / ITI / B.E. in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or related field. Minimum 2 years of experience in installation of audio-visual, networking, or railway coach systems preferred. Strong knowledge of electrical wiring, LAN cabling (Cat6), and connectors (M12 series, RJ45). Hands-on experience with tools like Multimeters, soldering irons, crimpers, grinders, and power tools. Familiarity with CCTV cameras, NVRs, display units, and PA systems is a strong plus. Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, system architecture, and installation manuals. Basic knowledge of PCB components and handling minor board -level inspections and Replacements. Comfortable working inside confined coach spaces. Other Requirements: Willing to work at Pan India project locations as per site deployment requirements. Should have basic troubleshooting skills to resolve issues during installation or testing phases. Familiar with Linux basics for device setup, file access, or log retrieval in embedded systems. Able to use MS Office tools (Excel, Word) to maintain installation records, test logs, and documentation. Basic working knowledge of CCTV camera software/NVR tools for camera configuration and diagnostics.
