Job Description

Role & responsibilities

The Documentation Engineer will be responsible for preparing, organizing, and maintaining all technical, safety, and quality documents required for SIL certification of the Platform Screen Door (PSD) system. The role involves working closely with design, testing, quality, and safety teams to ensure compliance with CENELEC standards (EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129) and supporting Independent Safety Assessors (ISA) during audits and reviews.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, review, and control

    technical documentation

    (Design Documents, Interface Control Documents, System Architecture, FMEAs, Test Plans, Test Reports, Safety Case, etc.).
  • Develop and maintain the

    Safety Plan, V&V Plan, Configuration Management Plan, and Quality Records

    .
  • Ensure compliance of documents with

    SIL process requirements

    and project documentation guidelines.
  • Maintain

    traceability of requirements design implementation verification

    .
  • Coordinate with engineering teams for collecting inputs, formatting, and standardizing documents.
  • Support

    safety audits, assessments, and certification reviews

    by providing correct documentation.
  • Manage

    document versioning, approval workflow, and storage

    in the configuration management system (DOCUMAN)
  • Interface with

    Independent Safety Assessor (ISA)

    and respond to document review comments.

Eligibility Criteria

Education:

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering (Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation / Mechatronics / Computer Science) OR
  • Master’s degree in Technical Documentation / Industrial Engineering / Quality Systems / Electrical / Electronics

Experience:

  • 2–5 years

    (junior) or

    5–8 years

    (senior) in technical documentation for safety-critical systems (rail, aerospace, defense, or automotive).
  • Prior exposure to

    CENELEC standards (EN 50126 / 50128 / 50129)

    or

    IEC 61508

    is highly desirable.
  • Experience in

    SIL-related documentation

    for rail subsystems (signalling, train control, door systems, etc.) preferred.

Skills Required:

  • Strong knowledge of technical writing, version control, and configuration management.
  • Familiarity with safety lifecycle documentation (Hazard Logs, Safety Case, Validation & Verification Reports).
  • Proficiency in documentation tools: MS Office
  • Understanding of railway safety certification process (SIL2–SIL4).
  • Excellent communication skills for coordination across engineering, safety, and certification teams.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to follow structured documentation processes.
