You’ll be a partner with our Data Scientist, AI engineers, quantitative research team, and frontend and backend teams. 

The Role

What You’ll Do

Mobile (React Native)

• Define mobile architecture for performance, state mgmt, and real-time data (REST/WebSockets); institute security practices for secrets, auth, and network calls; enable perf tracing in CI. 

Middleware / Microservices

• Design a microservices topology (NestJS/Node/Python) with an 

  API gateway

   (routing, auth, rate-limit, TLS) and service contracts. Guide versioning and BFF patterns as needed.  
• Establish observability (tracing/metrics/logs), resilience (retries/circuit breakers), and rollout strategies (blue/green, canary). 

Data & Streaming

• Stand up event-driven data flows (ingest, transform, fan-out) and streaming for market data using Azure primitives (e.g., 

  Event Hubs

  ), with low-latency consumers and durable storage. 
• Work with the Data Engineering Team, which defines bronze/silver/analytical stores (e.g., DataBricks Lakehouse/Synapse) and governance (schemas, lineage, retention). 

AI Integration & MLOps

• Partner with Data Science and AI engineers to produce LLM/RAG and model-based signals; implement CI/CD for models, versioning, monitoring, and rollback (champion-vs-challenger). 

Security, Compliance & Ops

• Baking in security and privacy controls (secrets, least privilege, data isolation, device/app hardening), and guide readiness for audits (logging, change control). 
• Drive cost, performance, and reliability reviews—formalizing decisions against 

  Well-Architected

   review checklists. 

What We’re Looking For

• 10+ years across product engineering with 

  recent architecture leadership

   in mobile + cloud + data; substantial hands-on depth in 

  Node/NestJS

  , 

  React Native

  , and 

  AWS

  /

  Azure

  . 
• Proven design of 

  API-first microservices

   with gateways, schema/versioning, and real-time messaging; comfort with event-driven systems. 
• Data platform experience (streaming + batch), observability, and performance tuning for low-latency workloads. 
• MLOps/LLM integration experience (model packaging, monitoring, rollback, and RAG/fine-tuned models in prod).  
• FinTech familiarity (risk, reliability, secure UX) a plus; thrives in a founder-style, hands-on role. 

First 90 Days (Outcomes)

• Architecture baseline:

   Mobile, microservices, data, and AI reference diagrams + ADRs aligned to 

  Well-Architected

   pillars.  

• Golden path:

   Reproducible dev env, API gateway, service templates, tracing, and perf budgets for mobile and backend. 

• Streaming v1:

   Event-driven ingest with 

  Event Hubs

  , consumer services, and storage; dashboards for latency/throughput SLOs.  

• AI in prod:

   One RAG/LLM workflow with CI/CD, model/version tracking, and rollback plan; live quality/latency monitors.
