Floor Supervisor

The Floor Supervisor is responsible for overseeing day-to-day production activities on the factory floor, ensuring smooth workflow, adherence to quality standards, timely output, and effective utilization of manpower and machinery. This role requires strong leadership, knowledge of furniture manufacturing processes, and the ability to drive efficiency while maintaining safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate production activities on the shop floor.
• Ensure production targets are met within set timelines and quality standards.
• Allocate tasks to operators, carpenters, finishers, upholsterers, and helpers as per production schedules.
• Monitor workflow and resolve any production-related issues promptly.
• Conduct regular checks to ensure adherence to quality, safety, and housekeeping standards.
• Maintain records of daily production, material usage, rework, and wastage.
• Coordinate with the planning, design, and stores/warehouse team for raw material availability and job orders.
• Guide, train, and monitor workers for skill development and productivity improvement.
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations.
• Assist in machinery upkeep by reporting maintenance needs and coordinating with the maintenance team.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimize production efficiency and reduce downtime.

Requirements

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Furniture Technology, or related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in a supervisory role within furniture manufacturing / woodworking / modular furniture industry.
• Strong knowledge of carpentry, joinery, finishing, polishing, and upholstery processes.
• Familiarity with machinery such as panel saws, edge banders, CNC routers, sanding machines, spray booths, etc.
• Good leadership, team management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret production drawings and work orders.
• Basic knowledge of ERP or production management software is an added advantage.
• Willingness to work flexible shifts and meet tight deadlines.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
