1. Role Purpose
The Financial Modelling Analyst will lead the development of detailed, end-to-end financial models for renewable energy and clean energy projects (solar, wind, hydro, hybrid, storage, green hydrogen, clean energy infra, etc.). The role covers modelling of assumptions, revenues, cash flows, IRR, equity returns, sensitivity analysis, project valuations, portfolio valuations, scenario planning, bid strategy support, and commercial insights required for decision-making at the CEO and Founders level.
2. Key Responsibilities
A. Financial Modelling & Project Evaluation
- Build
end-to-end financial models
for renewable/clean energy projects in consultations with in-house teams covering: - Technical & operating assumptions
- Revenue projections
- Tariff modelling (open access, group CPP, C&I PPA, utility-scale, storage-related revenues)
- CAPEX & OPEX estimation
- Debt structuring, amortization schedules
- Working capital requirements
- IRR, NPV, Payback, DSCR, RoCE, RoE
- Develop
project finance models
for bid submissions, partnership discussions, and internal approvals. - Conduct
sensitivity analysis
and scenario simulations
(CAPEX up/down, tariff change, Regulatory implications etc.). - Create models for
hybrid
, pumped storage
, battery energy storage (BESS)
, green ammonia
and other emerging clean-energy technologies. - Prepare
equity valuation models
for new and existing SPVs.
B. Valuation & M&A Support
- Carry out
valuation exercises
for: - Ongoing projects
- Potential acquisitions (brownfield/greenfield)
- New business opportunities (EV charging, hydrogen, storage, etc.)
- Portfolio-level valuations for investors
- Build DCF, comparable transactions, market multiple–based valuation models.
- Provide valuation inputs to fundraising teams, bankers, and investors.
- Support in preparing
IC memorandums
for investment committees and board approvals.
C. Business Case Development & Value Identification
- Identify
value creation opportunities
by analyzing: - Open access charge optimisation
- Optimal debt structuring
- Tariff renegotiation opportunities
- Energy yield improvements
- CAPEX/OPEX optimization
- Prepare
bankability assessments
for new project types or markets. - Analyse
policy, regulatory, and market changes
and translate them into business impact (positive/negative). - Build cost–benefit analyses for new business verticals.
D. Bid Strategy & Commercial Support
- Work closely with
BD, CEO Cell, and Strategy
for bid preparation: - Prepare LCOE calculations
- Recommend bid tariffs based on scenarios
- Evaluate competitors and bidding trends
- Provide commercial insights for:
- PPA structuring
- Project viability
- State-wise revenue modelling
- Cost of power for clients
E. Reporting, Dashboards & Decision Support
- Develop dashboards and MIS reports for:
- Project performance
- Portfolio returns
- Variance analysis (budget vs. actuals)
- Risk & sensitivity exposures
- Translate complex financial insights into
clear decision-making summaries

- Work closely with:

G. Tools & Technical Skills
- Strong proficiency in advanced

(array formulas, VBA preferred) - Experience with
financial modelling best practices
- Exposure to modelling tools: PowerBI / Tableau (added advantage)
- Understanding of:

3. Candidate Profile
Educational Qualification:
- CA / CFA (preferred)
- MBA Finance (Tier 1/2 preferred)
- B.Tech + MBA combination is an advantage
- Degrees in economics, commerce, or finance also acceptable
