Job Description

The Factory Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily production activities within their assigned department, ensuring that manufacturing operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely. This role involves leading and motivating a team of production operators, monitoring production targets, maintaining quality standards, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader with strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to operational excellence. Key Responsibilities: * Production Oversight: * Direct and coordinate the daily activities of production personnel to meet established production schedules and targets. * Monitor workflow, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize production efficiency. * Ensure proper setup and operation of machinery and equipment. * Track and report on key production metrics (e.g., output, scrap rates, downtime). * Team Leadership & Development: * Supervise, train, and mentor a team of [Number] production operators, fostering a positive and productive work environment. * Conduct performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and identify training needs. * Schedule shifts, approve time off, and manage attendance. * Promote teamwork and effective communication among team members. * Address employee concerns and resolve workplace issues in a timely and professional manner. * Quality Control: * Ensure all products meet established quality standards and specifications. * Implement and enforce quality control procedures and inspections. * Investigate and resolve quality-related issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions. * Collaborate with the Quality Assurance department to maintain high product quality. * Safety & Compliance: * Enforce all company safety policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment. * Conduct regular safety inspections and identify potential hazards. * Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all team members. * Investigate and report all incidents, accidents, and near misses. * Ensure compliance with all relevant industry regulations and standards. * Continuous Improvement: * Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains. * Implement lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement methodologies. * Collaborate with engineering, maintenance, and other departments to optimize production processes. * Participate in root cause analysis for production deviations and implement corrective actions. * Inventory & Materials Management: * Monitor material flow and ensure timely availability of raw materials for production. * Minimize waste and optimize material usage. * Coordinate with the inventory control team to ensure accurate stock levels. * Reporting: * Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production reports. * Maintain accurate records of production data, employee performance, and safety incidents.
