As a Product Design Engineer, you will work on the design and development of both plastic and sheet metal components, contributing to product maintenance, SPO projects, and supporting new product development.

We are part of the M\PSBU group, Specializing in the design and Manufacturing of connectors for Consumer application.
What You Will Do
- Drive the development of new and legacy Signal products, collaborating closely with supervisors on design modifications and innovations.
- Champion the Product Development Process (PDP) by coordinating seamlessly with cross-functional teams including product management, engineering, manufacturing, and applications.
- Translate customer needs and Voice of Customer (VOC) insights into actionable design and product goals.
- Lead and actively participate in critical reviews such as conceptual, DFM, DFMEA/PFMEA, design, and phase gate reviews to ensure product excellence.
- Create precise models, detailed drawings, clear product specifications, and comprehensive test documentation for robust product validation.
- Manage design change processes efficiently, including Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs), while liaising with global manufacturing plants on quality and inspection outcomes.
- Utilize advanced CAD tools (NX/ECTR), SAP for engineering changes, and presentation/analytics tools to support design and decision-making.
- Plan and prioritize tasks proactively, aligning personal and team goals with broader organizational objectives.
- Foster a culture of quality, continuous improvement, and productivity enhancement across projects.
- Conduct in-depth signal integrity and thermal performance analyses, while actively contributing innovative ideas to drive product advancement.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (B.E) with 3+ relevant experience in product development.
- Proficiency in NX and Teamcenter software tools.
- Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools such as Hypermesh or Ansys is advantageous.
- Understanding of product development methodologies and ability to interpret technical specifications.
- Basic knowledge of SAP, ERP, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
- Effective oral and written communication skills suitable for professional environments.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
What Will Put You Ahead
- Japanese speaking ability is preferred to support communication with relevant teams and stakeholders.
- Experience in designing electro-mechanical products such as connectors or switches.
- Knowledge of connector design, development, and manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with signal-integrity principles to ensure reliable electrical performance.
- Understanding of thermal-performance analysis for effective heat management in product design
