Electronics Hardware Engineer (3–5 Years Experience)

Full-cycle electronics hardware design: concept to certification for VitalMed’s embedded and automation products.

Location : Pollachi, Tamil Nadu

Language : Good English (written and spoken)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Hardware Engineer (3–5 years) who can independently design, simulate, and validate complex electronic circuits. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in digital, analog, and mixed-signal design, along with hands-on experience in power supply design, RF layout principles, high-speed PCB design, prototyping, and compliance certification. This role involves full-cycle hardware development—from concept and schematic design to PCB layout, assembly, testing, and certification.

1. Circuit Design (Analog, Digital & Mixed Signal)

  • Design analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits based on product specifications.
  • Develop low-noise amplifiers, filters, sensors, power stages, logic circuits, and microcontroller/microprocessor-based designs.
  • Select appropriate components considering performance, cost, lifetime, and availability

2. Circuit Simulation & Analysis

  • Perform SPICE simulations (LTSpice, PSpice, etc.) for analog circuits, power stages, stability analysis, and
  • transient behavior.
  • • Conduct simulations for signal integrity, power integrity, noise analysis, and timing.
  • • Perform worst-case analysis and tolerance evaluation.

3. Power Supply & Power Electronics Design

  • Design DC-DC converters (buck, boost, LDOs), battery charging circuits, and power sequencing networks.
  • Ensure thermal optimization, efficiency analysis, and safe operating margins.
  • Familiarity with vendor reference designs (TI, Analog Devices, ST, etc.).

4. High-Speed Design & RF Layout

  • Apply high-speed PCB design principles: impedance control, differential routing, length matching, SI/PI considerations.
  • Follow RF layout guidelines for BLE/Wi-Fi modules, antennas, filters, and transmission lines.
  • Work on multi-layer PCB routing with controlled impedance.

5. PCB Layout & Assembly

  • Collaborate with PCB layout engineers or perform layout independently using Altium / KiCad / OrCAD.
  • Define stack-ups, design rules, and ensure manufacturability (DFM/DFT).
  • Oversee PCB assembly, prototype builds, soldering, and bring-up.

6. Testing, Validation & Certification

  • Conduct functional testing, environmental testing, noise/EMI measurements, and validation.
  • Use oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, spectrum analyzers, VNA, and power analyzers.
  • Prepare hardware for safety and regulatory certifications such as EMI/EMC, CE, FCC, RoHS, UL, etc.
  • Participate in pre-compliance testing and coordinate with external labs.

7. Documentation & Collaboration

  • Create schematics, BOM, calculation reports, design documents, test reports, and revision logs.
  • Work closely with firmware, mechanical, and production teams for product integration.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support cross-functional design reviews.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics/Electrical Engineering.
  • 3–5 years proven experience in electronics hardware development.
  • Strong expertise in analog & digital circuit design.
  • Strong expertise in SPICE simulations.
  • Strong expertise in power supply design (DC-DC, LDO, battery systems).
  • Understanding of RF layout guidelines.
  • High-speed PCB design experience.
  • Hands-on experience with PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, KiCad).
  • Proficiency using lab test equipment (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, DMM, etc.).
  • Understanding of EMI/EMC design techniques, grounding, shielding, filtering.

Preferred (Good to have)

  • Experience with microcontrollers (STM32, ESP32, NXP, TI).
  • Experience with sensor interfaces and mixed-signal ADC/DAC designs.
  • Familiarity with reliability testing (HALT, HASS, thermal cycling).
  • Knowledge of antenna matching and RF tuning.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
