Job Title: Electrical Engineer (Railways Projects) Location: Khargone (MP) Experience Level: 5-7 Years Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Electrical Engineer with 5-7 years of dedicated experience in railway infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, implementation, testing, and commissioning of various electrical systems within railway environments, ensuring adherence to safety standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of railway specific electrical systems, a proven track record of successful project delivery, and the ability to work collaboratively within a dynamic team. Key Responsibilities: * Design & Engineering: * Develop detailed electrical designs, schematics, single line diagrams (SLDs), and layout drawings for railway electrification (OHE/TRS), signaling power supplies, station electrical systems, auxiliary power, and other related railway infrastructure. * Perform electrical calculations including load flow, short circuit analysis, voltage drop, and protection coordination studies. * Select appropriate electrical equipment, materials, and components based on project requirements cost-effectiveness. * Review and approve vendor drawings and technical submissions. * Project Execution & Management: * Oversee the installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems on railway project sites. * Ensure all electrical works are carried out in compliance with design specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards. * Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth project progress. * Prepare and maintain project documentation, including technical reports, progress reports, test protocols, and as-built drawings. * Monitor project schedules and budgets related to electrical works. * Technical Expertise: * Deep understanding of railway signaling power supply systems (25kV AC/DC, 750V/1500V DC traction systems, 3-phase AC systems). * Familiarity with railway specific equipment such as traction transformers, rectifiers, inverters, switchgear, SCADA systems for OHE, and protective relays. * Knowledge of earthing and bonding requirements for railway systems. * Proficiency in relevant electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, ETAP, EPLAN) is a plus. * Safety & Compliance: * Implement and enforce strict safety procedures and protocols for all electrical works, particularly in live railway environments. * Ensure compliance with all relevant Indian and international railway standards and regulations (e.g., RDSO specifications, Indian Railways codes). * Troubleshooting & Support: * Provide technical support and troubleshooting expertise during commissioning and operational phases. * Participate in site inspections and audits to ensure quality and compliance. Qualifications: * Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university. * 5-7 years of progressive experience as an Electrical Engineer, with a significant portion of this experience directly involved in railway infrastructure projects Conventional Railways. * Demonstrated experience in at least two full project lifecycles from design to commissioning in a railway context. * Strong understanding of railway electrification, signaling power, and station electrical systems. * Proficiency in electrical design software and tools. * Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team. * Willingness to travel to project sites as required. Preferred Skills: * Experience with SCADA systems for railway applications. * Knowledge of railway telecommunication systems. * Professional Engineering (PE) license or equivalent certification (if applicable). * Familiarity with FIDIC contract conditions.
