Job Summary The Junior Electrical Engineer assists in the design, installation, testing, commissioning, and maintenance of electrical systems. The role involves supporting senior engineers, ensuring compliance with safety standards, preparing technical documentation, and coordinating with site teams to execute electrical works efficiently. Key Responsibilities Design & Engineering Support Assist in preparing electrical drawings, layouts, single line diagrams (SLD), and schematics. Support load calculations, cable sizing, and selection of electrical equipment. Help review technical specifications, BOQs, and vendor drawings. Installation & Site Execution Supervise installation of electrical systems such as panels, cables, earthing, lighting, and power distribution. Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and instrumentation teams at site. Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings and standards. Testing & Commissioning Assist in testing and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems. Participate in inspections, pre-commissioning checks, and trial runs. Maintain test reports and commissioning records. Maintenance & Troubleshooting Support preventive and breakdown maintenance activities. Identify faults in electrical systems and assist in rectification. Ensure minimum downtime and safe operation of equipment. Safety & Compliance Follow electrical safety rules, PPE usage, and statutory norms. Ensure compliance with IS standards, IEC, and local electrical regulations. Report unsafe conditions and assist in safety audits. Documentation & Reporting Prepare daily progress reports (DPRs) and site records. Maintain material consumption reports and as-built drawings. Assist in coordination with vendors and contractors. Qualifications & Skills Education Diploma or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering. Technical Skills Basic knowledge of electrical systems (LV/MV). Familiarity with electrical drawings and AutoCAD (preferred). Understanding of panels, transformers, motors, and switchgear. Basic MS Excel and reporting skills. Soft Skills Good communication and coordination skills. Willingness to work at site and in shifts if required. Problem-solving attitude and eagerness to learn.
