A Project Costing Engineer is responsible for estimating, planning, monitoring, and controlling project costs to ensure the project is completed within budget and on time. Below is a clear overview of the key work and responsibilities: 🔹 Project Costing Engineer – Key Responsibilities Cost Estimation & Budgeting Prepare detailed cost estimates for projects (materials, labor, equipment, overheads). Study drawings, BOQs, specifications, and scope of work. Develop project budgets and cost breakdown structures (CBS). Tendering & BOQ Preparation Prepare and review BOQs for tenders. Analyze vendor and subcontractor quotations. Support techno-commercial evaluations. Cost Control & Monitoring Track actual costs vs budgeted costs. Identify cost overruns and suggest corrective actions. Maintain cost reports and cash flow statements. Billing & Invoicing Prepare RA bills / running bills. Verify subcontractor bills and material invoices. Coordinate with accounts for client billing and payments. Material & Resource Planning Assist in material planning and quantity tracking. Monitor material consumption to avoid wastage. Coordinate with procurement and site teams. Variation & Change Management Evaluate extra items, variations, and claims. Prepare cost impact statements for scope changes. Support contract amendments. Coordination & Reporting Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, procurement, and finance teams. Prepare weekly/monthly cost reports for management.
