JOB SUMMARY:

Aahana Educational and Charitable Trust empowers women and underserved children to transcend generational poverty through education and entrepreneurship.

We Provide equal opportunities to women and children in the most vulnerable communities via technology platforms using Open School curriculum, leadership development, skillset training, career guidance, and mentorship.

The role of Education Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing our online courses based on the NIOS curriculum, in addition to creating and managing tailor-made training courses children and women who are in various levels of education. This role also requires identifying, training, scheduling and managing the teaching staff.

STRATEGIC ALIGNMENT & EXPERIENCE IMPACT

For Students:

o  Improving the quality and accessibility of online learning with clear and user-friendly instructional materials and digital tools.

o  Creating inclusive, engaging, and flexible learning environments that motivate students toward academic success.

For staff and Community

o  Planning, developing and scheduling the curriculum.

o  Providing professional support and coaching on the use of technology and digital instructional strategies.

o  Leading initiatives that improve digital learning systems, tools, and accessibility, contributing to the overall effectiveness of the online education program.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Serve as the primary administrator for the educational programs.
  • Design and support best practices for online instructional delivery and course structure primarily based on the NIOS curriculum.
  • Identify, interview, and recommend staff and volunteers for online teaching positions.
  • Collaborate with staff to create engaging, accessible, and standards-aligned online content over and beyond the prescribed curriculum.
  • Provide ongoing training and coaching for staff to implement processes and procedures that promote academic progress through regular evaluations and individualized education plans (IEPs) for students in the program.
  • Ensure consistency and quality across online course design and delivery.
  • Ensure all digital learning resources meet accessibility standards.
  • Develop guidelines for creating accessible digital content.
  • Review existing content for accessibility compliance.
  • Train staff on creating accessible digital materials.
  • Stay current with digital accessibility regulations and best practices to ensure compliance and optimal user experience.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

o  Bachelor’s degree in education, Instructional Technology, or related field.

Experience:

o  Minimum of 3 years teaching experience, preferably including online teaching.

o  Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Hindi and in English.

Knowledge/Skills:

o  Proficiency with Google Workspace for Education and learning management systems.

o  Experience with digital content creation and management.

o  Strong understanding of online learning pedagogies and best practices.

Technology Proficiency:

o  Demonstrated fluency with educational technology tools including Google Workspace (Docs, Meet, Drive, Calendar), Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams), and Zoom Workplace.

o  Ability to integrate technology creatively and effectively into instruction and related operations, with a growth mindset toward emerging tools and practices, including AI.


PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

o  Commitment to providing quality education and making a positive community impact.

o  Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Hindi and in English.

o  Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across multiple modes, including virtual group and one-on-one meetings (a core expectation), as well as through phone calls, approved emails, and chatrooms, and occasional in person meetings with students and staff.

o  Must be responsive, approachable, and committed to fostering strong connections in a fully online learning environment.

o  Professionalism, adaptability, and a student-centered mindset.

o  Self-directed with strong organizational abilities.

o  Problem-solving mindset and adaptability to changing technology landscapes.


WORKING CONDITIONS

o  Remote work environment with a typical 8-hour workday with a 6 Day work week with hours are flexible based on duties.

o  Must be able to talk and hear effectively to support virtual instruction and communication.

o  Occasional travel may be required for in-person collaboration or training.

o  Requires strong organization, independent time management, and the ability to collaborate virtually with staff and leadership.
