How will you contribute?
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Architect (Microsoft Azure) to lead the design, implementation and optimization of our Azure-based Data Platform solution. The candidate will be expected to be hands-on in defining the infrastructure and platform design, evaluate services or components to use and ensure scalability for multi-client or tenant usage. The architect will form part of our technology leadership group, shaping the technology strategy for A&M teams and clients, evaluating third party software proposals and defining best practices for implementation teams to follow.Key responsibilities:
- Azure platform architecture and design – Own the end-to-end architecture design for A&M’s tax data platform, ensuring a scalable, secure and high-performance solution. Ensuring ease of provisioning instances of the solution in A&M’s cloud infrastructure or deploying into a client’s environment.
- Infrastructure and cloud optimization – Ensure the right infrastructure, cost-efficient cloud resources, and high availability configurations are in place. Conduct proof-of-concepts when determining pros and cons between services or component selection.
- Security and data privacy – considering design requirements and controls to protect client and A&M data and aligning to country-level requirements
- Design principles, best practices and reviews - Establish guidelines for development teams to ensure efficient, scalable, and maintainable code. Act as the technical advisor for engineering teams, providing direction during development, testing and deployment, whilst performing necessary reviews.
- Third-party software review – Responsible for reviewing third-party software provider proposals to determine whether technology components and solution designs are best practice and aligned to A&M’s technology landscape.
- Stakeholder and vendor collaboration – Work closely with business leaders, development teams, and vendors to align technology decision with strategic goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. 15+ years of experience in solution architecture with a focus on Azure cloud stack.
- Hands-on experience with SQL. Confident writing complex queries, joins, and transformations. Deep knowledge of Azure App Services, AKS, Azure Functions, SQL, CosmosDB, Data Lake, and API Management.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or equivalent certifications.
- Strong knowledge of cloud security, networking, compliance, and governance best practices.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC) – Proficiency in Terraform, ARM Templates, Bicep, and automated deployments.
- CI/CD & DevOps – Experience with Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes).
- Cloud Security & Compliance – Knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture, IAM, RBAC, GDPR, SOC 2.

- Performance Optimization – Ability to enhance scalability, cost efficiency, and high availability of Azure workloads.
- API & Microservices Design – Proficiency in REST, GraphQL, API Gateway, and event-driven architectures.
- Hybrid Cloud & Multi-Cloud – Understanding of hybrid connectivity, Azure Arc, and multi-cloud strategies.
- Certifications in Microsoft Azure Architecture, Power Platform, and Snowflake.
- Hands-on development experience with the Azure stack.
- Familiarity with third party tax solutions and data integration processes is a plus.
